Just prior to a vote on a no-confidence motion in Parliament, deputies from GERB-UDF and the Movement for Rights and Freedoms left the chamber. The surprise move revealed a rupture in the ruling globalist coalition. Parliament went on to vote 66-61 to back the government of prime minister Nikolay Denkov, but the vote was meaningless as the Parliamentary Chair granted the request by the Bulgarian Socialist Party for a revote.

The no-confidence motion was made on November 8 by the Bulgarian Socialist Party, Vazrazhdane and There Is Such a People (TISP) for the Denkov government’s failure in the areas of national defense and security. According to Parliamentary rules, a decision for a no-confidence is considered adopted when more than half of the 240 MPs vote.

Parliament failed to re-vote the motion of no confidence. After a recess and the resumption of the session, only 63 MPs registered their attendance. National Assembly Chair Rosen Zhelyazkov adjourned the session due to a lack of quorum.

As GERB leader Boyko Borissov hurried off to a meeting with the Ambassadors of Western EU countries to whom the globalist ruling coalition is beholden it is unclear how long the fragile coalition can remain united.
