Buckingham Palace Releases Stunning Statement Against Prince Harry After Latest ‘Attack’

Prince Harry has reignited tensions with the Royal Family following a revealing new interview in which he claimed his father, King Charles, “won’t speak to me because of this security stuff” and declared he was “devastated” over losing his legal battle to restore police protection in the U.K.

In a sit-down with BBC News from California, the Duke of Sussex opened up about the ongoing rift with his family, his legal defeat, and his desire to reconcile, despite what he described as a “good old fashioned establishment stitch up.” But what followed his remarks was a rare and pointed response from Buckingham Palace.

“All of these issues have been examined repeatedly and meticulously by the courts, with the same conclusion reached on each occasion,” a Palace spokesperson stated Friday, after Prince Harry launched a new wave of criticisms tied to his security status.

The prince’s legal challenge stemmed from a decision made in 2020, shortly after he and Meghan Markle stepped back from royal duties and relocated to the United States. That move came with a cost—automatic police protection in the U.K. was withdrawn, a move Prince Harry has been fighting to reverse ever since.

“I can’t see a world in which I would bring my wife and children back to the UK at this point,” he told the BBC, adding that he felt “let down” and that the loss “uncovered my worst fears.”

According to Harry, the Royal Household interfered in the decision-making process that led to his protection downgrade. He claimed his status shifted “overnight” from being the most at-risk royal to the least. “So one does question how that is even possible and also the motive behind that at the time.”

Despite saying he has “forgiven” his family and no longer wants to continue to fight, Prince Harry did not hold back in accusing the Palace of having played a central role in what he described as a betrayal.

Asked whether he ever requested King Charles intervene in the security matter, Harry clarified: “I never asked him to intervene – I asked him to step out of the way and let the experts do their jobs.”

Friday’s court ruling marked the end of his latest legal appeal, with senior judges acknowledging the prince made “powerful” arguments but finding that his “sense of grievance” did not “translate into a legal argument.”

The ruling also highlighted that while the committee did diverge from standard policy in 2020, it was deemed “sensible” given the complexities of Harry’s situation. Nevertheless, the prince called the entire episode “devastating” and signaled he would no longer pursue the case in court.

“I wish someone had told me that beforehand,” he added, calling the outcome a “surprise.”

The Prince did, however, call on political leaders to take action. “Whether you’re the government, the Royal Household, whether you’re my dad, my family—despite all of our differences, do you not want to just ensure our safety?”

He also expressed sorrow at the thought of not being able to safely visit the U.K. with his children. “I love my country, I always have done… and I think that it’s really quite sad that I won’t be able to show my children my homeland.”

In his closing remarks, Prince Harry said he would be reaching out to Home Secretary Yvette Cooper to “urgently examine the matter and review the Ravec process.”

Despite his calls for change, Buckingham Palace’s brief but firm response Friday made it clear they consider the matter settled—and they are done revisiting it.
