British Journalist Warns: Big Business Could “Put a Hit” on Trump in Response to Tariffs

A columnist for the British newspaper The Telegraph has suggested that big business could retaliate against President Donald Trump’s tariffs by putting “a hit” on him.

Writer Tim Stanley wrote that while he supports Trump’s tariffs, he added that the President is “trying to change history, rather than just caretake it.”

“In fact, Trump is correcting a 50-year misdirection in US life, and one that the hero of many Trumpers, Richard Nixon, also attempted to fix,” he wrote.

Stanley went on to warn that Trump’s efforts to upend the global order could result in a brutal backlash.

He wrote:

“Were I a foreign manufacturer, I’d wager this policy will be reversed at least by 2028 when a new president is elected – or big business puts out a hit on Trump because they’ll tolerate anything but the devaluing of their stock price.

The next gun that fires at the President will probably be made in America.”

While it isn’t exactly clear whether the columnist was directly asserting that financial interests could physically take Trump out, his careful choice of words suggests that this might be the case.

Trump is no stranger to assassination attempts, with two occurring just last year, and it would be foolish to believe those threats have simply gone away.

Besides the threats from big businesses, there are still millions of crazed leftists who want to see Trump dead.

As we reported on Tuesday, a survey conducted by the Network Contagion Research Institute found that an alarming number of leftists are in favor of violence against their political enemies.

Thirty-one percent of respondents said it would be justified to murder Elon Musk, while 38 percent said the same about Trump, according to the survey.

However, among those who identified as left-of-center, the support for assassination was significantly higher:

  • 48 percent for Musk
  • 55 percent for Trump

Almost 40 percent of all respondents also justified destroying a Tesla dealership, calling it somewhat acceptable.

These attitudes are closely correlated with Democrat and leftist ideology, which, the article suggests, has shifted from a party of acceptance and inclusiveness to “the party of all violence and demonic screaming.”
