We reported yesterday on Amsterdam’s reported mission to Armenia to monitor the Pashinyan government’s attack on the Armenian Apostolic Church.

Armenian government sources report that the authorities have decided not to allow world-renowned lawyer and international human rights defender Robert Amsterdam to enter the country. According to our information, he is scheduled to arrive in Armenia on Monday, August 11, reports Past-am.

Let us recall that yesterday, on August 8, the press wrote that the visit of the first-class international lawyer on political issues is urgent and is connected with several high-profile cases: the case of the archbishops, the pressure against the Armenian Apostolic Church, and the illegal detention of Samvel Karapetyan. The visit to Amsterdam is intended to carry out a certain monitoring function regarding the real state of human rights and democracy.

It should be noted that lawyer Amsterdam is known for his cases defending a number of political and public figures and activists in different countries.

Our sources do not report what the justification for not allowing him to enter Armenia will be. However, the entry ban will be very scandalous, since the lawyer is from the close circle of US President Donald Trump, and Pashinyan was negotiating with Trump in Washington yesterday, Friday night.
