BREAKING: Maryland circuit court judge killed in Hagerstown home, investigation underway
An investigation is underway by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office following a lethal attack on a Washington County Circuit Court judge on Thursday evening.
“Judge Andrew Wilkinson was allegedly killed at his home, according to sources” ABC 7 reports.
The death of Wilkinson was confirmed by Circuit Court Administrative Judge Brett R. Wilson during a phone conversation with local media..
Sergeant Carly Hose, acting as the spokesperson for the sheriff’s office, earlier mentioned that the sheriff’s office was conducting an investigation into a gunfire incident.
Responding to inquiries about the situation around Olde Waterford Road north of Hagerstown, a Maryland State Police corporal stated that the state police is aiding the sheriff’s office and suggested contacting the sheriff’s office for additional information.
The specifics of the homicide have not been made public yet. But, according to information obtained by ABC 7, Maryland State Troopers are being sent out to protect other judges.
