BREAKING: Man Arrested For Allegedly Assaulting GOP Congresswoman
U.S. Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) was “physically accosted” on Capitol Hill by a pro-transgender individual, the congresswoman revealed in an X post on Tuesday evening. Mace has become an outspoken critic of gender ideology and has recently been leading an effort to bar a transgender-identifying males from using the women’s bathroom at the Capitol.
“I was physically accosted at the Capitol tonight by a pro-tr*ns man. One new brace for my wrist and some ice for my arm and it’ll heal just fine,” Mace posted on X, adding that an arrest has been made.
“Your tr*ns violence and threats on my life will only make me double down,” Mace continued, concluding her post with “FAFO,” short for “f**k around and find out,” followed by the hashtag “HoldTheLine.”

The U.S. Capitol Police have confirmed that just before 6 p.m., the office of a member of Congress, later identified as Mace, reported an incident in the Rayburn House Office Building. Officers with the department’s Threat Assessment Section announced that 33-year-old James McIntyre of Illinois was taken into custody in connection with the incident, according to a statement from the agency.
McIntyre was arrested for assaulting a government official after sitting for an interview with Capitol Police.
The statement added that the Rayburn Building was open to the public at the time of the incident, and that McIntyre entered the building after going through security screening.
Last month, Mace introduced a bill that would bar male transgender-identifying individuals from using the women’s bathroom at the Capitol Building. Democrats have attempted to claim the move was made in response to the election of incoming U.S. Rep. Sarah McBride (D-DE), who was elected last month.
Mace has rejected the notion that her legislation is “bigoted” or “hateful,” maintaining that the bill is needed for safety reasons. “I’m not going to allow biological men into women’s private spaces. I will stand in the brink and stand in the way of anyone on the radical left who thinks that it’s okay for a penis to be in a women’s locker room or a bathroom or a changing room. Hell no. I’m not going to stand for it. And the speaker said it would be in the House Rules package,” Mace said when asked about the bill by ABC News last month.
“This is not okay. I’m a survivor of rape, I’m a survivor of sexual abuse, and I’m not going to allow any man in any female private space. End of story. And by the way, I’m getting deaththreats from men pretending to be women. Why is it that these crazy people, the insanity, the radical left, are willing to kill women over a man’s right to be in a women’s restroom?”
If passed, Mace’s bill would prohibit “members, officers, and employees of the House from using single-sex facilities other than those corresponding to their biological sex, and for other purposes,” according to text provided to the outlet.
Mace has received a flood of death threats since introducing the legislation, some of which she has posted on social media. “It’s sad and surprising that in 2024 I have to go on TV and on social media to explain to the radical left that men shouldn’t be allowed in women’s restrooms, that women shouldn’t be forced to undress in front of men,” she said during a recent interview with Fox News.
“It’s just ludicrous to me that women who are victims of abuse should be forced to undress or go to the bathroom next to a man,” the congresswoman added.
