Bombshell: John Bolton Hid Memo That Could Have Cleared Trump on Russia Hoax
Former National Security Advisor John Bolton has come under fire following the newly declassified documents released by Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard on Wednesday.
Bolton, along with other key officials, is now facing fresh scrutiny over his ties to the origins of the Trump-Russia investigation.
According to the second batch of documents, former President Barack Obama directly authorized the release of information linking then-candidate Donald Trump to Russian interference efforts.
One of the documents reportedly shows that Obama approved the public disclosure of intelligence related to alleged Russian collusion while acknowledging internally that there was no verified evidence to support the claims.
The documents also support earlier material suggesting that Obama administration officials were involved in the coordination and dissemination of the narrative that Trump’s campaign was compromised by Russia.
The files further allege that Russian President Vladimir Putin had compromising material on former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
This revelation has renewed interest in what was known during the 2016 campaign and how that intelligence was managed.
Former CIA Director John Brennan, who previously testified that the controversial Steele dossier did not play a role in the 2017 Intelligence Community Assessment, is also facing renewed scrutiny.
However, Gabbard’s document release has raised further questions about the dossier’s influence on intelligence findings.
Now, new developments suggest that former National Security Advisor John Bolton obtained a classified memo in 2018 summarizing intelligence alleging that Brennan played a central role in developing the claims of collusion between Trump and Putin.
Bolton allegedly did not brief President Trump on the contents of the memo and instead secured it in a National Security Council safe.
“Sources tell me in 2018 former Trump Nat’l Security Adviser John Bolton received a classified memo summarizing the explosive report exposing how Brennan cooked up Putin-Trump intel, but Bolton stuck it in an NSC safe and never briefed Trump, believing the Brennan intel,” journalist Paul Sperry wrote on X.
The report raises concerns about whether senior officials within the Trump administration were withholding relevant information from the President at a critical time.
As the broader investigation into the origins of the Trump-Russia narrative ramps up, the Department of Justice and congressional oversight bodies continue to review these declassified materials.
