Blake Shelton 'Feels Better' When Gwen Stefani Visits Him on Tour

Blake Shelton is embarking on a string of new concerts, and Gwen Stefani has pledged to turn up to at least a few of them. A source exclusively tells Life & Style that the couple hates to be apart for long stretches.

“Blake’s gotten to a point where he’s extremely codependent on Gwen, which is pretty sweet. He always wants her to join him on the road,” the insider says. “He’s so proud of her and hates it when they’re apart, and anytime she’s watching him, he gets an extra rush.”

The source continues that the “Ol’ Red” singer, 48, has “no issue” performing, and “will always give his audience a killer show,” but he “feels happiest when Gwen is there, which makes it all that much better for him.”

“When she’s there, it gives him a boost. He loves singing to her in the audience and having her eyes on him. All these years later, she still gives him butterflies,” the insider says.

The source adds that Gwen, 55, “also takes such good care” of Blake when she’s with him on tour.

“On the road without her, he’s eating all kinds of crap, staying up too late drinking. He’s not at his best. She always makes sure he takes good care of himself,” the insider concludes. “That’s another reason he wants her to come out. He just feels better in every way with her around.”

Blake and Gwen met while they were both coaches on The Voice in 2014. At the time, they were both going through divorces — Blake’s split from Miranda Lambert was finalized in 2015, while Gwen’s split from Gavin Rossdale was finalized the following year. The pair leaned on each other through the experience and fell in love.

“I think that NBC did that. Two divorced people at the same time. But to be super honest, it is kind of crazy we both went through the same thing at the same time,” Gwen told Ryan Seacrest on his radio show in 2015. “There’s been so many people that I’ve gotten comfort from.”

The couple went public with their romance in 2016 and spent four years dating before they got engaged in October 2020. They later tied the knot on Blake’s Oklahoma ranch in July 2021, making the country singer a stepfather to Gwen and Gavin’s sons, Kingston, 19, Zuma, 16, and Apollo, 11.

Rumors of trouble in their marriage swirled in early 2024 after the couple seemingly led “separate” lives and rang in the new year in different states, but Gwen and Blake proved that they were still going strong with the release of their romantic single “Purple Irises” in February 2024.

Blake is slated to perform concerts in Nashville, Salinas, California, Fort Loramie, Ohio, Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Brookings, South Dakota, over the summer. However, when he’s not working, a source exclusively told Life & Style that the “God’s Country” singer and his wife are looking forward to spending time together in Oklahoma.

“They love to get away from L.A. and all the superficiality of the business. On the ranch, they can totally relax and let down their guards. Their family and friends fly out to see them so it’s not like they are totally shut off, but they do have a lot more time alone,” the insider said. “They go on long walks, write songs and play music together. Gwen cooks all their favorite foods, it’s very nourishing.”

The source continued, “Right now, they go whenever they have downtime, but it’s usually just a few days. They are looking forward to having a good couple of months there soon, where they can really recharge.”
