Bill Maher Predicts Democrats Will ‘Blow’ The Next Election

HBO host Bill Maher pointed to a woke moment from the finale of a hit reality TV series on Friday to argue how Democrats are out of touch and will continue to lose elections if they do not change course.

While speaking with former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, the “Real Time” host argued that liberals have become “bullies,” a conclusion he came to during the COVID-19 pandemic. He also argued that Republicans have shown to have more ideological diversity in their coalition as opposed to their Democrat opponents.

“There’s not just one caucus in the Republican Party. There’s like three or four,” Maher said.

“Am I right or wrong about this? The biggest issue is that they have a very big chip on their shoulder, somewhat very understandable, about being called deplorables. And having the cool kids in the class, in the media and academia, looking down on them, thinking they’re deplorable,” he continued. “And so, they just have this, ‘I’m going to make the liberals cry,’ their liberal tears attitude, which kind of transcends everything for them. And the problem is, for the liberals, it’s these are the kids who run the high school now, and they’re stuffing your body into a locker every day.”

New York-based author Fran Lebowitz conceded that Democrats truly aren’t the “cool kids” anymore, adding that they are indeed being “stuffed into lockers” every day.

Maher continued with his central point in his closing monologue, which referenced a moment from the “Love is Blind” season finale, in which one of the show’s season eight stars, Sara Carlton, walked away to her wedding to co-star Ben Mezzenga because he didn’t have strong enough pro-Black Lives Matter views. He used the moment to reference a question he posed to Senator Adam Schiff (D-CA) during last week’s episode.

“But how are the Democrats going to blow it this time? This is how: Posturing, purity tests, the politics of ‘I unfriend you if you’re not exactly with me 1000 percent,’” he said, comparing the current attitude of the American left to Carlton’s dating standards.

“I remember I asked him about Black Lives Matter, and I’m no expert, but when I asked him about it, he was like, ‘I guess I never really thought too much about it,” Carlton said during the episode.

“And that’s when Sara realized she would rather die alone,” Maher joked after playing a clip from the show. “To be fair to Sara, it wasn’t just Black Lives Matter. Ben also didn’t have much to say on the vaccine,” the host went on to say with a sarcastic tone. “And his position on trans was basically, ‘I don’t know I guess.’ Sarah’s sister is gay and when she told that to Ben, Ben said he had ‘no discomfort around that community at all.’”
