‘Large Brother’ Star Mickey Lee Lifeless After Struggling ‘A number of’ Cardiac Arrests
Big Brother fans are mourning the loss of Season 27 standout Michaela Chalon “Mickey” Lee, who died at age 35 after suffering “a series of cardiac arrests,” according to a statement shared on her Instagram.
The tragic news comes just months after her time on the CBS reality show, where she quickly became one of the most talked-about players of the season.
Mickey’s team revealed on Monday, December 22, that she had experienced multiple cardiac arrests believed to be connected to flu-related complications. While loved ones initially said she was in critical but stable condition, the situation ultimately turned fatal.
“She has been surrounded by medical professionals and loved ones, but the road ahead will be long and challenging,” the statement read before her passing. The post also linked to a GoFundMe page originally launched to support her medical care, which raised more than $22,000 as of Tuesday, December 23.
During her run on Big Brother 27, Mickey placed 10th and was evicted in week eight — but not before shaking up the house. A strategic mastermind with one Head of Household win under her belt, she famously used an interrogation power to dethrone Rylie Jeffries and was involved in multiple major alliances. Her bold leadership often made her a target, but it also earned her respect from fans and fellow cast members alike.
Following the news, tributes from the Big Brother community poured in, reflecting just how deeply she impacted the season — and the people around her.
“Mickey is a fighter, and I know she’s going to come back stronger than ever. Until then, let’s show up for our girl in every way we can,” Jimmy Heagerty wrote on Instagram at the time of her hospitalization.
He added, “Please keep her in your prayers, manifest healing energy, share her most recent post, and—if you’re able—consider donating to help support her and her family during this incredibly difficult time and the recovery ahead.”
“Prayers Mickey,” Rachel Reilly wrote in a comment. “Thinking about you and your family.”
Ashley Hollis echoed the sentiment on X, writing, “Sending her whole family love this holiday season but per Jimmy it sounds like Mickey is in stable condition.”
