Biden is Waging a War on Appliances: Gas Stoves, Dishwashers, ACs and Even Ceiling Fans Aren’t Safe
President Biden is waging a silent, but comprehensive war on Americans’ way of life. Despite denials to the contrary, the White House is scheming behind the scenes to put an end to modern appliances that Americans have relied on for generations to improve their quality of life. But gas stoves is just the beginning.
The most blatant affront is the Biden administration advancing a ban on gas stoves without congressional approval.
In January, there was inflamed speculation about a gas stove ban in the works after the CPSC linked the appliances to a purported risk of brain damage. A UPSC commissioner told Bloomberg that a ban on gas stoves in homes is “on the table.” He cited the appliance’s alleged link to serious health conditions such as respiratory illness, cancer, and childhood asthma.
“This is a hidden hazard,” UPSC commish Richard Trumka Jr. told Bloomberg, “Products that can’t be made safe can be banned.”
A Biden official reacted to the flare-up by subsequently denying the administration had no intention to implement a ban on the sale of new gas stoves.
It soon became obvious that the public prefers gas stoves far more than the Biden administration anticipated, much like the incandescent light bulbs it has been trying to ban. But despite the House of Representatives passing a bipartisan bill in July to prevent the gas stove ban, the White House hasn’t abandoned the concept.
A House Oversight subcommittee recently exposed the Department of Energy for trying to regulate gas stoves out of existence.
“We know that the Department has the authority to regulate energy efficiency standards for appliances and has done so for decades without major issue,” said Pat Fallon, Republican from Texas. “But since President Biden took office, he made clear from day one that he was on a mission to abolish fossil fuels.”
“Under his watch, energy prices have skyrocketed while agencies push through rules to suppress energy production and hurt American energy independence,” he continued. “His Administration is even going after Americans’ household appliances. And not just gas stoves—it is also targeting dishwashers, refrigerators, water heaters, furnaces, and air conditioners.”
But if you thought that was ludicrous, the administration is now going after ceiling fans. The Department of Energy is putting forth a regulation aimed at making ceiling fans more energy-efficient, contending that such a measure would lead to energy cost savings for U.S. families.
Republicans serving on the House Committee on Small Business argue that if the proposed regulation is implemented, it could jeopardize small manufacturers. They point to the financial burden these companies would face to meet the new compliance standards.
“This rule would require numerous small business fan manufacturers to redesign their products and may put between 10 and 30 percent of small business ceiling fan manufacturers out of business,” the GOP members of the committee wrote in a letter to Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm on Thursday. “It appears that the Department of Energy (DOE) may not have properly considered small entities during this rulemaking process.”
In recent months, the Department of Energy has been aggressively pursuing stricter regulations for household appliances. As part of its broader mission to promote energy efficiency and conservation, the department has proposed new standards for various household essentials like gas stoves, ovens, washing machines, refrigerators, air conditioners, and dishwashers.
But it’s not only in the U.S. where elites are attempting to impose regulations that degrade the quality of life for those underneath them, while the upper class fly private jets and live in beachside mansions, despite the alleged threat of “climate change.”
In Britain, a green advisory organization, the Climate Change Committee (CCC), is advising millions of families to abstain from heating their homes during peak hours to assist the UK Government in achieving its net-zero emissions goal.
As part of a broader initiative for “emissions savings,” the CCC released a document on “behavior change,” suggesting that UK residents should “pre-heat” their homes in the afternoon when electricity consumption is generally lower.
This advice is detailed in the CCC’s sixth “carbon budget,” a paper that outlines the UK’s strategies for emissions reductions between 2033 and 2037. The organization recommends that people using electric heating systems, like heat pumps, should refrain from using their radiators in the evenings. “There is significant potential to deliver emissions savings, just by changing the way we use our homes,” the document asserts.
The CCC advises that well-insulated homes can be “pre-heated” during off-peak hours, allowing residents to benefit from reduced utility rates. The organization anticipates that by 2033, all newly built homes and up to half of those built after 1952 will be sufficiently insulated for such pre-heating practices.
However, the recommendation has garnered criticism, with skeptics arguing that the advice compromises people’s quality of life to meet government climate targets. Andrew Montford, the director of Net Zero Watch, claimed that the electricity grid is already under strain and said, “It’s clear that renewables are a disaster in the making.”
Craig Mackinlay, who leads the Net Zero Scrutiny group of Conservative MPs, also criticized the advice, stating that it exposed the illusion of “plentiful and cheap renewable energy.”
The CCC, established in 2008 to counsel the Government on meeting its climate goals, criticized the UK’s “worryingly slow” progress on climate action in its latest report. The organization pointed out that the UK’s support for new fossil fuel exploration and airport expansion undermines its position as a global green leader. The use of “carbon budgets,” legally binding emissions reduction targets, has become increasingly controversial.
It is clear that Net Zero 2050 initiatives are a front for the ruling class to carry out a war on modern civilization under the guise of a “green agenda.” These political elites have zero intention of living according to their own standards themselves.
