A baby girl’s life was saved when her mother, feeling cornered at a Planned Parenthood abortion clinic, took the first abortion pill but quickly changed her mind and sought reversal treatment through a pro-life helpline.

Her story is highlighting the hope and success of abortion pill reversal despite legal attacks from abortion advocates.

Elizabeth, a cashier at Lowe’s barely scraping by, found out she was pregnant and went to Planned Parenthood.

“Planned Parenthood told her she could start a chemical abortion that day—or try to get back on the packed schedule later. Feeling cornered, she took the first pill,” according to the Thomas More Society, a pro-life legal group that shared her story.

But she hadn’t even left the building when she learned the baby’s father wanted to keep their child.

“And it hit her—she’d wanted that too, all along,” the group said.

She tried to throw the pill up and then found a number buried on page 3 of Google: the Abortion Pill Reversal helpline. “A nurse answered. A doctor called back in 15 minutes. By that evening, she’d started treatment. Her beautiful baby daughter was born healthy in January 2024,” the Thomas More Society reported.

The group, which is defending organizations involved in abortion pill reversal, noted that California’s Attorney General is suing Heartbeat International and Real Options, “the very groups that helped Elizabeth—claiming it’s ‘fraud’ to tell women about Abortion Pill Reversal. He wants crippling fines, a permanent gag order, and censorship.”

“This is playing politics in the courtroom with real lives at stake, plain and simple,” the Thomas More Society stated, adding that it took the case and, “after two years of hard-fought litigation, we’ve taken the state’s arguments apart piece by piece and found zero consumer complaints. Zero evidence that APR is harmful.”

“Our hearing is April 15. We’ll keep fighting to keep that phone line ringing,” the group said.

The story underscores the life-affirming impact of abortion pill reversal, a process that provides supplemental progesterone to counter the effects of mifepristone, offering women a second chance to choose life for their unborn children amid pressures from the abortion industry.
