[Yerevan, Armenia] – Sources tell CDM that the government of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan enjoys a complete media monopoly over information flow, and opposition journalists have been threatened and for the most are scared to report on government activities that might show Pashinyan in a bad light.

“Most of the government employees have the Israeli spy software Pegasus on their phones. It’s $100,000 a piece for this software, and someone is paying for it, and it’s not the Armenian government,” declared one source.

“The government promotes a narrative that is very anti-Russian, anti-church, and you very likely will be arrested for speaking out against the preferred narrative. Many are in jail as we speak for social media posts.”

“They arrested one man and confined him for 3 days, then they found out he had the same name of the person who posted a negative comment against the government on social media; they let him go after figuring out he was the wrong guy.”

Sources on the ground in Yerevan tell CDM the Armenian Apostolic Church headquarters in Etchmiazdin will likely be raided in the coming weeks, as Pashinyan looks to remove obstacles to power in church leadership.

“The church is slowly waking up to what is going on but they have been ill-prepared to fight the secret services of Pashinyan, and it may be too late,” reported a source.

Most people in Armenia have been propagandized by the controlled media and do not understand what is actually happening to the church, the culture, the economy and geopolitics.
