Arctic Monkeys Drop First New Monitor Since 2022
Arctic Monkeys have returned with their first new music in more than four years.
War Child Records announced the release on Instagram, teasing a new track from the band alongside details of an upcoming charity project.
“New track from @arcticmonkeys and more info about our upcoming project to support children living through war,” the organization wrote. A short teaser video shared with the post shows a child running into the sea, set to laughter and hazy, distorted instrumentals.
The band last released new music with their 2022 album The Car, which reached No. 2 on the U.K.’s Official Albums Chart. Since then, Arctic Monkeys headlined Glastonbury in 2023 and completed a world tour later that year, wrapping up with a final show in Ireland in October.
On Jan. 22, the group confirmed the new release on Instagram, writing: “Opening Night’. Out now.”
The song is taken from the forthcoming collaborative album HELP(2), due out March 6, 2026. “Arctic Monkeys are proud to support the invaluable work War Child does. All proceeds support @warchilduk,” the band added.
War Child U.K. responded in the comments, writing, “It’s been incredible creating this together. Thank you so much for being part of HELP(2) and for helping make this album possible ❤️”
The track was recorded at Abbey Road Studios as part of HELP(2), a new charity compilation released through War Child Records.
The album features a wide-ranging lineup of artists, including Big Thief, Cameron Winter, Arooj Aftab, Beck, Olivia Rodrigo, Sampha, King Krule, Depeche Mode, and Black Country, New Road. The Zone of Interest director Jonathan Glazer served as the project’s creative director.
HELP(2) is inspired by the original 1995 HELP compilation, which was famously recorded in a single day to raise funds for War Child’s humanitarian efforts during the war in Bosnia.
That album included contributions from Radiohead, Oasis, Massive Attack, and Sinéad O’Connor. Three decades later, HELP(2) continues the mission, with proceeds supporting War Child’s ongoing work aiding children affected by conflict around the world.
