AOC Has Sad Feelings About Democrats Supporting GOP Trans Athlete Bill Before Trump Inauguration
We are now just four days away from the inauguration of the 47th President of the United States and some are getting in gear by showing off their lack of common sense in public view. The leader of the pack of this group of stellar misfits is one of my fan favs from the state of New York, a young lady by the name of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, or AOC.
Our young heroine is quite upset and perplexed that anyone with a “D” after their name would be supporting a bill introduced in the House of Representatives in Washington, D.C., by her Republican colleagues.
Why is she upset about the bill?
According to the article right HERE, it will seek to prevent federally funded educational institutions from allowing transgender athletes to compete in girls’ and women’s sports.
Ocasio-Cortez’s viral rant against the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act wasn’t enough to convince Democratic allies Henry Cuellar and Vicente Gonzalez, both of Texas, to vote against the bill. Cuellar and Gonzalez joined 218 House Republicans who voted for the bill that seeks to prevent federally funded educational institutions from allowing transgender athletes to compete in girls and women’s sports.
For Ocasio-Cortez, the notion of Democratic congressmen voting for a Republican-backed bill before President-elect Trump even returns to office suggests her party is “not in good shape.”
Well, duh.
AOC is right that the party is not in good shape, although it’s not nearly as bad as she thinks. The Republicans lead the House of Representatives with a slim lead, and while Trump will occupy the White House beginning January 20th, there is not a lot of wiggle room for defections or consensus among the kids with “R” after their name.
However, this issue is one of those examples where even logical Democrats can cross the aisle to exhibit common sense.
AOC had some further thoughts, which always amuse me…
“We can’t be ninnies about this,” Ocasio-Cortez told The Independent Tuesday. “These are just the early days. Trump hasn’t even been sworn in yet, and if a little bitty sports bill was gonna make Dems defect, we’re not in good shape.”
Ocasio-Cortez advised Democrats not to be “ninnies” the same day she delivered a widely-mocked tirade that contained multiple unsubstantiated claims and unfinished sentences. Her rant prompted multiple viral social media responses that labeled her “the dumbest person in congress.[sic]”
She calls her fellow Democrats, who do not believe in funding transgender confusion with federal tax dollars and have an issue with it, ninnies.
I would take 100 AOCs in Congress over some poll-driven, elected official who has to try to figure out how they feel depending on what day it is and what polling numbers are handed to them before they have breakfast. This woman is a gift and a blessing; we should continue to cherish her. Republicans should try to sweep each district or state area, find more AOCs, and get them to run.
In most areas of the country, Republicans would win by default.
If I were advising President-elect Trump before he takes the reins of power Monday at high noon, I would make sure he informs his staff that they are not to criticize the Congresslady from New York directly but to quietly repost and promote all of her lunacy.
She is just solid gold politically, particularly on this issue.
That she wants to pick a fight with her fellow Democrats on something this polarizing and quite simply sickening, and about making an argument that biological men should be allowed to compete in women’s sports and use the same locker rooms and shower facilities, is mind-numbing.
Yet, here she is.
That her fellow Democrats’ support of stopping federal dollars from being used to promote this silliness is just against the common sense approach that the American people voted against last November. She and the majority of Democrats who voted to not support this just don’t get it.
I guess, they might be a bunch of ninnies.
