America's Got Talent Returns for Season 20: Judges, Premiere, More
America’s Got Talent has been helping make dreams come true for brilliant singers, dancers, magicians, comedians and more for 19 years. As season 20 approaches, one million dollars is once again on the line and every contestant is eager to get that golden buzzer.
Life & Style reveals everything to know so far about the judges, premiere date and more for the upcoming season.
‘America’s Got Talent’ Celebrates Its 20th Season
The hit talent competition got its start in June 2006 and featured popular acts such as quick-change duo David Michael Maas and Dania Kaseevan, the dance group Celtic Spring and yodeler Taylor Ware. However, it was singer Bianca Ryan who came out as the winner. Since then, it’s platformed other successful acts, including ventriloquist Terry Fator, magician Shin Lim and prop comic Tape Face, who all went on to have successful shows in Las Vegas.
Nearly two decades later, show creator Simon Cowell said that it was “absolutely brilliant” to be able to announce the show’s 20th season in a statement shared by NBC.
“Over the years, we have seen some amazing acts and met some truly incredible people. It’s true that two or three minutes can change your life,” he continued at the time. “I want to thank every contestant, all the fans who have supported the show every year and to NBC for believing in this show. And of course, the amazing team, past and present, who make the show so special. Now as always, I am really excited to meet the contestants this year.”
