Planned Parenthood Will Re-Open in Louisiana to Facilitate Killing Babies in Abortions

The Planned Parenthood abortion company plans to reopen a center in New Orleans this fall, its first facility in Louisiana since the last one closed last September.

The organization says the new center will not kill babies in abortions because they are illegal in the state, but it will connect abortion customers with abortion pills from out of state and travel to other states to end babies’ lives.

Emily Wales, president and CEO of Planned Parenthood Great Plains, confirmed the abortion organization’s plan to facilitate killing babies in other states.

“We are very used to seeing patients who have to cross state lines and who may express, ‘Hey, I’m looking care;’ and we can connect them with resources that can help them get out of the state,” she said.

Louisiana Right to Life responded to the announcement, describing it as unsurprising that the nation’s leading abortion business seeks to return to the state.

“It is no surprise that Planned Parenthood, the leader of the abortion industry, is attempting to return to Louisiana,” said Erica Inzina, Policy Director for Louisiana Right to Life. “As they have made clear, they will send women outside Louisiana to have abortions. They will not miss the chance to increase business at their abortion super-centers in other states. Louisiana has chosen a better path: protecting unborn babies and supporting women and families with real, life-affirming help.”

Inzina raised concerns about potential legal violations.

“We are concerned that Planned Parenthood’s telehealth services may be violating Louisiana law if their medical providers are not licensed to practice medicine in Louisiana. Furthermore, Louisiana law prohibits health care providers from prescribing the abortion pill for elective abortion.”

She stressed that abortion remains central to the organization’s approach.

“It is clear that Planned Parenthood insists on making abortion a key aspect of their services upon reopening. Planned Parenthood’s business model has no place in Louisiana’s pro-life future. We will continue to stand against the abortion industry in Louisiana.”

Louisiana Right to Life noted that women deserve providers who prioritize comprehensive care without pushing abortion.

“Women deserve medical providers in which comprehensive health care is their priority. There are many health centers and pregnancy centers that offer full care without pushing abortion.”

The group said it will continue its efforts to protect life in the state.

“Louisiana Right to Life will continue working with public officials, health care providers, pregnancy resource centers, churches, and communities across the state to protect life and support mothers and families.”

Louisiana maintains strong legal protections for unborn children, with abortion banned in nearly all cases. The state is also fighting to stop mail-order abortions.
