Grammy-Winner Defends Singing Nationwide Anthem At White House UFC Struggle: ‘F*** All The Division’
As with anything related to President Donald Trump, an upcoming UFC fight planned for the South Lawn of the White House has attracted widespread criticism.
It’s part of a larger celebration of America’s 250th anniversary, which was also supposed to include a series of concerts, though most of the artists have since dropped out amid mounting political pressure.
But when it comes to the Grammy Award winner tapped to perform the National Anthem ahead of the upcoming fight, there won’t be any apology to those who are offended.
Breitbart reported on Zac Brown’s comments:
“Man, I’m there for the troops, man. I’m there to honor America,” Brown said. “This is patriotism, not politics for me. I mean, fuck all the division. I don’t believe in that. I love this country. I love all the people that have sacrificed so that I can live my American dream and that everyone that lives here gets a chance to do that if they work hard and make the right decisions. So it doesn’t have a place in politics for me.”
“I’m so excited for this weekend. And it’s history, man, getting to be part of American history, man. Having the first sporting event that’s on the lawn of the White House. I mean, it’s an honor,” he added.
Roughly 8,000 active service members will be attending the event on June 14, according to Brown, who will also be performing with the Marine Band.
“I’m honored that Dana [White’s] given me the opportunity to do this,” Brown said. “We’re going to be playing after the weigh-ins for the concert on Saturday and then getting to do the anthem for this with the Marine Band is going to be sick.”
His remarks attracted a mixed reception that included a number of supportive comments:
He’s a thousand percent correct. Cowards who pulled out of the event forgot the meaning behind the event which was celebrating 250 years of our country’s independence and especially the military members who have sacrificed to protect this nation. They made it about themselves

The upcoming fight has also drawn considerable attention on social media in light of a favorable court ruling:
SO basically, it was just some lefties pouting that big bad president was holding an event in their neighborhood. I don’t even like Trump but lefties are insufferable

Here’s what CBS News reported about the judge’s recent decision:
U.S. District Judge Amit Mehta declined to grant emergency relief to two Washington, D.C., residents who sought a court order stopping the UFC event. The D.C. residents, Susan Douglas and Paul Romano, filed their lawsuit six days ago, alleging that the upcoming mixed martial arts fights violated restrictions related to events on White House grounds and that the structure, known as the Claw, that was built for the fights was constructed unlawfully.
But Mehta said the plaintiffs failed to establish that they would be harmed by the events and were unlikely to show that they had the legal right to sue, a concept known as standing.
The “UFC Freedom 250” event is set to take place on the South Lawn of the White House on Sunday, President Trump’s 80th birthday, as part of a series of events taking place in celebration of the nation’s 250th anniversary.
