American beer giant Anheuser-Busch announced Wednesday that it is expanding its commitment to domestic manufacturing with a $600 million investment across its U.S. operations in 2025 and 2026.

The announcement doubles a previously planned $300 million investment for 2025 alone and forms a key part of the company’s ongoing “Brewing Futures” initiative, which focuses on jobs, workforce development, and community impact, the company announced in a press release.

The investment spans three core pillars of the Brewing Futures program. First, under the “Creating and Sustaining Manufacturing Jobs” pillar, Anheuser-Busch will direct the full $600 million toward brewery upgrades. This includes advanced technology systems, campus improvements, supply-chain enhancements, and expanded production and packaging capacity.

These upgrades will support leading brands, including Michelob ULTRA, which has surged to become one of the nation’s best-selling beers, the company noted.

As part of its “Building the Manufacturing Workforce for the Future” section, Anheuser-Busch will open 15 new technical skills training centers at its facilities nationwide. These centers will deliver advanced training in technical fundamentals, digital tools, management systems, and mechanical and electrical systems.

The initiative builds on the company’s first Technical Excellence Center in St. Louis, opened in 2022, where more than 2,700 employees have already been trained. Through this expansion, Anheuser-Busch plans to upskill more than 90 percent of its American manufacturing workforce over the next five years.

In addition, the firm is partnering with technical trade schools to address local skills gaps, strengthen talent pipelines, and create clear career pathways in manufacturing both inside and outside the organization, according to the press release.

The company’s third pillar includes an initiative aimed exclusively at providing career opportunities for veterans.

“Anheuser-Busch is also continuing to work with the Manufacturing Institute’s (MI) Heroes MAKE America initiative to provide former and current service members with resources to pursue careers in manufacturing. Since announcing its industry-leading adoption of MI’s Manufacturing Readiness Badges in May 2025, Anheuser-Busch has integrated more than 20 total credentials that translate military training into skills required for manufacturing roles within its operations,” the press release explained.

In 2026, the firm plans to expand the initiative through a new hiring program that highlights veterans’ skills. Anheuser-Busch noted that the tool is already integrated on its careers platform and has led to a 25 percent spike in resume submissions.

“Anheuser-Busch’s $600 million investment is a testament to our unwavering commitment to the future of American manufacturing. By strengthening our manufacturing operations, we are creating sustainable careers – not just jobs – and investing in the people who are vital to our success,” said company CEO Brendan Whitworth.

“We are proud to continue building the next generation of manufacturing leaders through our new technical training centers while also providing new opportunities in the workforce for our nation’s veterans.”
