Meet Nabela Noor, the Influencer Increasing Into Way of life TV on Tubi

For South Asian Americans who have long waited to see themselves reflected in mainstream lifestyle programming, a milestone moment is arriving this May. Nabela Noor, a Bangladeshi American creator and entrepreneur with over 12 million followers across platforms, is set to become the first South Asian to host a lifestyle series for a major streamer or network with “Hosted by Nabela Noor” on Tubi.

The series, announced via Variety, will drop all episodes on May 20. Each 30-minute episode is set in Noor’s home, where she entertains guests including family members and fellow creators like Avery Woods.

A Family Affair With Bangladeshi Roots

What makes the series even more meaningful is that it is a family collaboration. Episodes are directed by Noor’s sister, Neharika Noor — a detail that underscores the family bonds at the heart of the project.

Born August 4, 1991, in New York to Bangladeshi immigrant parents, Nabela Noor’s path from a daughter of immigrants to a nationally visible creator and entrepreneur is a story that resonates deeply within the South Asian diaspora. Her full name is Nabela Noor Martin, and she is now based in Pennsylvania, with roots tracing back to Bangladesh.

Noor finished high school at 16 and went on to attend community college before earning a degree in sociology from Pennsylvania State University. She started her YouTube channel in 2013, driven by a lack of diversity and plus-size representation in online content. Her work has spanned beauty, self-care, fashion, lifestyle, cooking and homemaking.

From ‘Pockets of Peace’ to a Streaming Platform

Noor’s journey to Tubi grew from a creative philosophy she has cultivated for years. In 2020, she launched her “Pockets of Peace” series — a TikTok concept focused on finding meaning in small, everyday moments. That series led to the creation of her brand, Nabela Noor Home.

Now, “Hosted by Nabela Noor” brings that same ethos to an episodic format on one of the largest free streaming platforms in the country. According to the show’s official description, “Viewers will be brought into Nabela’s world – from the farmer’s market, to the kitchen, to the dining room, garden, and everywhere in between – with the help of some friends along the way.”

“My goal with ‘Hosted by Nabela Noor’ is to inspire those to find their own pockets of peace, be a better host, and romanticize their every day,” Noor said. “I want viewers of the show to take away that they can treat every day like a special occasion, because life is worth celebrating.”

Tubi’s Kudzi Chikumbu affirmed the platform’s commitment to Noor’s vision in a statement: “At Tubi, we’re focused on building a home for creators who are ready to expand their storytelling in new ways. Nabela, a creator I’ve had the privilege of watching evolve, has built a deeply engaged community by making everyday life feel intentional and inspiring. ‘Hosted by Nabela Noor’ brings that connection to an episodic, bingeable format that reflects our commitment to culture-shaping voices and programming that helps viewers feel seen.”

A Voice for Self-Love and Representation

Beyond the new series, Noor has built a career centered on self-acceptance and empowerment. In 2021, she collaborated with PÜR on a collection called “PÜR xo Nabela.”

In a 2022 interview with Popsugar, Noor spoke about the values driving her work: “I love talking about self-love and self-care, and I believe both are necessary in your journey. Something that I’m really passionate about is helping people love the skin that they’re in and just being kind to themselves. That’s been the root of all of my work.”

With “Hosted by Nabela Noor,” that root extends into new ground — bringing a Bangladeshi American woman’s perspective into a space where South Asian voices have been largely absent from the host’s chair.
