Gavin Newsom Provides $90 Million to Deliberate Parenthood to Kill Extra Infants
California Gov. Gavin Newsom signed legislation Wednesday providing $90 million in taxpayer dollars to Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion company that has killed millions of babies.
The funding will allow the abortion organization to kill more babies, which critics argue is a gross misuse of public funds to end innocent lives.
The bill, SB 106, authored by state Sen. John Laird, a Democrat from Santa Cruz, was rushed through the Democratic-dominated Legislature on Monday, passing on party-line votes.
It allocates a one-time grant from the state’s general fund to compensate for losses from Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill Act,” which barred Medicaid reimbursements to abortion corporations like Planned Parenthood.

Newsom, a staunch abortion supporter, signed the measure into law just two days later, adding to a prior $140 million allocation he approved for the abortion giant in October, pushing total state support for Planned Parenthood above $200 million.
“The taxpayers will be giving them over $200 million, and for a very specific subset of the population and not helping women who want to keep their babies,” said Mary Rose Short, director of outreach for Right to Life California.
Short’s comments reflect pro-life frustration that the funds favor abortion over support for mothers choosing life. Republican Assemblyman David Tangipa of Clovis opposed the bill during floor debate, highlighting funding disparities.
“Why does Planned Parenthood get a $90-million grant when right now over 60 hospitals in the state of California are on the verge of shutting down?” Tangipa asked. “Hospitals across our state that deliver high quality care to women are on the brink of closure.”
Newsom justified the signing in a statement, positioning it as resistance to federal policies.
