Noah Cyrus Admitted She Was ‘In Love’ With Frankie Jonas As a Child
Noah Cyrus just dropped a dose of early-2000s Disney nostalgia — and fans are absolutely eating it up.
The singer-songwriter, 25, recently admitted that she once had a major crush on Frankie Jonas, the youngest brother of Kevin, Joe and Nick Jonas, back when they were both growing up alongside their superstar siblings. And yes, it all feels very full-circle.
Noah’s confession came after she posted a playful video of herself scream-singing the Jonas Brothers’ 2008 hit “Love Bug” on TikTok — a song famously inspired by her older sister Miley Cyrus’ relationship with Nick Jonas at the time. While fans were quick to clock the JoBros throwback, one comment in particular sent the internet spiraling.
“Younger me thought Noah Cyrus and Frankie Jonas was gonna be the IT FUTURE couple. They even did Ponyo together as kids 😭♥️,” a fan wrote, referencing the 2009 Studio Ghibli film Ponyo, in which both Noah and Frankie voiced characters for the English-language release.
Noah didn’t ignore the comment — instead, she confirmed what many fans had suspected all along.
“oh i was in loooovvveee with frankie. during ponyo and on tour w our siblings it was ONNNN,” she replied, sending longtime fans straight back to their Disney Channel era.
At the time, Noah and Frankie were often seen together thanks to their siblings’ overlapping careers. Miley and Nick’s relationship — which inspired songs, tours and endless tabloid headlines — meant the younger siblings were frequently along for the ride, making appearances together at events and even collaborating professionally. Their Ponyo voice roles only fueled fan speculation that the two might one day become a real-life couple.
While that childhood crush never turned into anything romantic, both Noah and Frankie have since moved on, naturally.
Frankie Jonas is currently dating Anna Olson, a media professional and content creator. The couple went public with their relationship in early 2022 and have kept things relatively low-key ever since.
As for Noah, she’s happily engaged. The Grammy-nominated singer announced her engagement to German fashion designer Pinkus in June 2023, after first introducing him to fans as her boyfriend in an April 2023 TikTok video.
“The greatest moment of my entire life was saying ‘yes’ to spending the rest of ours together,” Noah wrote on Instagram at the time. “This past month of being your fiancé and being in our own little world of just us two has been so perfect and i wish i could never leave this time.”
Though engaged, Noah has been open about taking things slow when it comes to wedding planning. During a November 2024 appearance on The Zach Sang Show, she explained that the couple is navigating some big life changes before walking down the aisle.
“It’s just a lot of moving parts of somebody moving their life from a different country, so, we’re going through all [that] process,” she said, referring to Pinkus relocating from Germany to the U.S.
“He’s from Düsseldorf and I love it there. It reminds me a lot of Nashville,” Noah added. “A lot of the nature’s very similar … like, where I’m from out in Spring Hill, Tennessee.”
