Daniel Stern, a veteran actor most widely-known for his portrayal of “Wet Bandits” burglar Marv in the 1990 Christmas classic “Home Alone,” received a citation for soliciting prostitution last month.

The incident occurred on December 10 at a hotel in Camarillo, California, according to records from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office that were reviewed by TMZ.

Stern was not arrested, booked, or taken into custody at the time. Instead, he was issued a misdemeanor citation at the time and released.

In California, soliciting prostitution is classified as a misdemeanor, which can carry penalties of up to six months in jail or a fine of up to $1,000 upon conviction. On Monday, January 12, prosecutors filed a formal charge against Stern for “engaging and agreeing to engage in prostitution.”

An arraignment was scheduled for the following day in Ventura County Superior Court. Details about the circumstances leading to the citation, such as whether it involved an undercover operation, have not been publicly disclosed by authorities

Prior to the legal issue, Stern experienced a medical episode this past October, when emergency responders from the Ventura County Fire Department were called to a residence in Somis, California, for a medical emergency. Firefighters assessed Stern at the scene and transported him to a nearby hospital for further evaluation.

He was subsequently released from the hospital and reported to be recovering without complications. A representative for Stern confirmed that he was doing well following the incident, though specifics about the nature of the emergency were not provided.

Stern has appeared in several television and film roles after getting his start in the 1979 coming of age drama “Breaking Away.”
One of Stern’s prominent roles came in 1991’s “City Slickers,” where he played Phil Berquist, a grocery store manager on a cattle drive adventure alongside Billy Crystal and Bruno Kirby.

On television, Stern provided the voice of the adult Kevin Arnold, serving as the narrator for the series “The Wonder Years” from 1988 to 1993. Beyond acting, Stern has directed films such as “Rookie of the Year” (1993) and worked as a screenwriter and artist.
