Did Olivia Rodrigo and Louis Partridge Actually Break Up?
Rumors are swirling that Olivia Rodrigo and Louis Partridge may have quietly gone their separate ways — and fans are already dissecting every detail.
On Sunday, December 21, The Sun reported that the pair allegedly split “a few weeks ago,” catching many by surprise given how solid they appeared just months earlier. According to the outlet, the breakup hasn’t been easy on Olivia, 21, who is said to be leaning heavily on friends as she processes the change.
A source claimed the singer became emotional while attending Lily Allen’s star-studded Sexy Santa party at London strip club Stringfellows. “They made such a lovely couple so people who know them were shocked when they heard,” the insider said. “It’s not been the easiest few weeks for them and they decided it’s better to be apart for now.”
The source added, “Olivia was at Lily’s party and emotional when she was talking about it. Her friends have rallied around her but it’s just been pretty rough. It’s really sad right now.”
If the breakup rumors are true, they come at the end of a massive year for Olivia. The “vampire” singer headlined Glastonbury and British Summer Time in London, cementing her status as one of pop’s biggest stars. Naturally, fans are already speculating that the emotional upheaval could influence her next album, which would be her first since 2023’s Guts.
Olivia and Louis were first linked in October 2023 after being spotted celebrating Halloween together in London. At the time, a U.S. Sun report claimed they met through mutual friends and quickly became “inseparable.”
Over the following year, the couple didn’t shy away from public support or PDA. They made their red carpet debut at the Venice Film Festival in August 2024 for the premiere of Louis’ project Disclaimer.
Still, Louis hinted they were intentionally keeping things more low-key. In a September interview with Esquire UK, he explained, “I think [it helps], yeah, to not blow it out of proportion or not have to explain it or have someone understand it.”
Just a few months ago, things sounded very different. While promoting his Netflix series House of Guinness in September, Louis, 21, spoke warmly about his relationship with Olivia and brushed off any concerns about dating one of the world’s biggest pop stars.
On being dubbed “Mr. Olivia Rodrigo,” he told Variety, “I can handle that.” He also shared at the time that he thought the two were “very happy” together.
Representatives for Olivia and Louis did not immediately respond to Life & Style Weekly’s request for comment.
