President Trump has posted on his Truth Social account notification of the closure of Venezuelan airspace.

Previously this week, POTUS declared that American forces would be ‘destroying by land’ Venezuelan ‘drug manufacturing and distribution’ areas.

The NYT reported Trump spoke by phone last week with Venezuelan President Maduro, discussing a possible meeting, though none is planned.

The call — which included Secretary of State Marco Rubio — came as the U.S. increases military and diplomatic pressure on Venezuela. (h/t Clash Report)

Two sources close to Maduro and two U.S. officials close to the administration, all speaking anonymously, stated that a phone call took place recently between Maduro and President Trump to discuss arranging a potential face-to-face meeting in the U.S., though nothing has yet been formally scheduled, writes Colonel John Mills on his Substack.

State Secretary Rubio was also reported to have been on the call. Neither country has yet to make an official statement. The call follows Venezuela’s unsuccessful attempt to “bribe” the U.S. with a significant stake in their oil fields and proposing additional business opportunities for American companies last month in the hopes of “buying” our military out of the Caribbean. The U.S. was quick to dismiss Venezuela’s offer.
