Film producer and commentator Lauren Witzke defended Project Veritas and amplified the allegations in a widely shared X post. Witzke wrote that Project Veritas had exposed how “AG Bill Barr’s daughter was trying to set up and blackmail Candace Owens when she was a senior DOJ official,” and claimed Daly also “was trying to set up someone with an underage girl to blackmail him.”
Project Veritas framed the matter in broader terms, asserting that Owens “has been a target of governments for years.” In its own X post promoting the screenshots, the group highlighted the alleged Daly line, saying, “We need to blackmail her (Candace) faster” and identifying Daly as a “former senior DOJ official, daughter of former AG Bill Barr.”
