‘Progressive’ Dem’s ‘Populist’ Model Crashes And Burns As Luxurious Way of life Is Uncovered
Iowa Democrat Christina Bohannan is selling herself as a humble, hard-working champion of the middle class who knows what it’s like “to struggle to put food on the table.”
But her real estate holdings and financial disclosures tell a much richer story — one featuring million-dollar homes, a Florida waterfront condo, and a stock portfolio stuffed with Big Tech giants.
“You know, I know what it’s like to work so hard and to, to still struggle to put food on the table,” Bohannan told fairgoers at the Iowa State Fair. She has repeatedly invoked her upbringing in a trailer park and memories of choosing “between putting groceries in the cart and filling prescription drugs.” She even told Iowa Public Radio that “she knows what it’s like to struggle.”
Her personal finances say otherwise.
In June, Bohannan snapped up University of Iowa basketball coach Fran McCaffery’s $1.55 million Iowa City mansion. She has also spent years enjoying a waterfront condo inside a gated Sarasota, Florida, community where properties run from about $300,000 to more than $1 million, plus thousands in yearly HOA fees.

That Florida condo isn’t just a getaway. Her disclosures show it brings in up to $50,000 in rental income every year.
Bohannan’s own filings also reveal she and her husband hold well into six figures of tech stocks, including Apple, Alphabet and Meta. None of it has been sold off, despite Bohannan pushing an “ETHICS PLAN” aimed at stopping members of Congress from trading stocks while in office.
Fox News Digital reached out to Bohannan, but she didn’t respond.
Bohannan is gearing up for a rematch against Republican Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks in Iowa’s 1st Congressional District.
Earlier this month, Bohannan tried to take a shot at Miller-Meeks’ “true values” by posting a photo of the congresswoman sitting in first class, claiming it happened “as her constituents suffer from Trump’s policies.”
“This photo tells you more about Miller-Meeks’ true values than her entire town hall did,” Bohannan wrote.
But the line backfired. Austin Hayek, a local district supervisor, blasted Bohannan’s outrage as laughable.
“Christina Bohannan is concerned with 1st class – weird since she just bought a $1.55 million dollar home,” Hayek wrote. “Seems she’s wanting others to share the wealth, but not herself and she cares more about her personal living than the ‘poor.’ Stop the virtue signally [sic].”
