The couple’s reunion at Oxford promised a fresh start—they slept together and seemed ready to finally be together. “You can expect a lot of drama and ups and downs,” Harriet Herbig-Matten, who plays Ruby, told Yahoo Entertainment of Season 2 in June 2024. “[James] is changing a lot and working on himself. [Ruby] is doing her thing and she’s not changing for him. She’s [setting] boundaries and that’s really important.” Clearly, their story isn’t going to be smooth sailing—but that’s exactly what keeps us hooked.
When Will Season 3 Premiere?
While Prime Video hasn’t dropped an official release date, Season 3 was greenlit a full five months before Season 2 even aired, giving fans plenty of hope for a quick turnaround. That means we could realistically see Season 3 hit screens in late 2025 or early 2026—so the wait won’t be too long before Ruby and James are back in action.
The renewal announcement was shared in June 2025 directly by the stars, Harriet Herbig-Matten (Ruby) and Damian Hardung (James), on Instagram. “Damien, you won’t believe what just arrived—Maxton Hall is coming back for Season 3,” Herbig-Matten said, as Hardung held up the Season 3 script with a grin. “One last time back to school!”
