St. Petersburg, Florida – Like many other patriots, I’ve devoted much of my life since President Trump descended that escalator in June 2015 to helping ensure his success. After publishing the best-seller Rules for Deplorables: A Primer for Fighting Radical Socialism in 2018—a counterpoint to Saul Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals—I spent the next six years warning Trump’s base about the left and the Democrats who were targeting him.
Over the years, I’ve spoken to hundreds of Republican clubs throughout Florida and met countless amazing patriots who care deeply about our country and what could happen if leftists take control.
Never did I imagine that members of Trump’s own Republican party would become his greatest enemies of the MAGA movement, but that’s exactly what’s happening now.
Many of the groups I’ve addressed are Republican Executive Committees (RECs). For those unfamiliar, every county has one—there are 67 across Florida—each operating under the Republican Party of Florida (RPOF). These committees are made up of Precinct Committee members (PCs), Republican-registered voters who represent their precincts and work tirelessly to get out the vote. You would think that Republican party leaders would respect these grassroots volunteers. They don’t—and they prove it more every day.

As a nearly 10-year loyal Precinct Committeewoman with the Pinellas County REC, I was shocked when earlier this year Florida’s Republican leadership filed four grievances against me and suspended me from the party for two years. Under the current wayward leadership of the RPOF under Chairman Evan Power, I’m hardly the only MAGA-America Firster being purged. Someone needs to alert President Trump before his entire base is dismantled in his own home state.
On September 29, I received an email from the RPOF Grievance Committee advising me that Bill Helmich, the RPOF Executive Director—a man I’ve never even met—had filed four grievances against me. The tone and content of those grievances left no doubt about their intent.
Where was my REC Chairman, Adam Ross, during all this? Was he too afraid to approach me directly while these grievances were being “researched”? Surely, he knew. The way these grievances were handled exposes exactly who’s running our party in Florida.
Most of the complaints relate to my actions from up to four years ago, which raises the obvious question: Why now?
Back on August 15, I had reached out to Mark Cross, Chairman of the RPOF’s Grievance Committee, to ask about the unprecedented 2024 suspension of the America First–majority Manatee County REC (MREC).
Mark and I had been friends since 2019. Over the years, he’d invited me to speak multiple times at his Osceola REC, and even as keynote speaker to the 67 REC Chairs at an RPOF Quarterly meeting. He’d been a huge supporter of my first book and of me—or so I thought.
During our call, I told Mark I was writing a sequel and devoting my final chapter to the RPOF’s suspension of the Manatee County REC. I had already interviewed several key members and had questions about how a grievance they filed against their Chairwoman—accusing her of spending REC funds without authorization—had been handled.
I especially wanted to know how the RPOF Grievance Committee reached its conclusions without interviewing any of the key witnesses, according to them. That seemed like a glaring omission that could affect the outcome.
Disappointingly, Mark never responded, despite multiple follow-ups seeking his comments on the record.
Instead, within ten days of our conversation, his Grievance Committee was drafting grievances against me. This was particularly surprising because I had told Mark that anything he said for the record could be reviewed and approved by him before publication.
In an email dated September 29, Mark informed me that the Grievance Committee had met on August 25 to review the complaints and attached a “staff report” recommending a two-year suspension from the party. There was no hearing for me to learn the grievances, and defend myself in a public forum through due process.
What’s most astonishing is that all four grievances stem from actions I took to defend our President and protect our MAGA base over the past five years.
1. The first grievance quoted me from a news article in which I said there are RINOs (Republicans in Name Only) right here in Florida. I found that ironic since President Trump himself has called out RINOs by name. I noted this in my reply. While my sequel, Rules for RINOs: Alinsky Tactics to Fight Republicans in Name Only, wasn’t released until after the Committee met, the RPOF leadership has since proven themselves to be exactly what my book describes.
2. The second grievance targeted my affiliation as State Ambassador for Defend Florida—the only all-volunteer grassroots group with the courage to challenge the 2020 stolen election. Our President has never wavered in his stance on that election, so why are party leaders so divided from him?
3. The third grievance accused me of founding “Pinellas Watchdogs” in 2023 (true) to monitor our local REC leadership (also true). Last I checked, Americans still have freedom of speech and assembly. Apparently, our party leaders disagree.
4. The final grievance questioned my “judgment and alignment with lawful democratic processes” because I served as Campaign Manager for an incarcerated January 6th protester who ran for a Florida House seat in 2022. President Trump, again, seems to share my belief that these patriots were unjustly persecuted for challenging a dubious election.
Together, these grievances—and the RPOF’s broader anti-MAGA actions—make the RINO war on MAGA unmistakably clear. (You can read the grievances and my replies at RulesforDeplorablesBook.com/rules-for-rinos.)
For the past five years, the Republican establishment has targeted MAGA and America First patriots for challenging the stolen election and supporting January 6th defendants. If you’re an America First Republican active in the party, you’ve likely faced RINO attacks yourself.
That’s why I wrote my sequel—to expose what I now believe is Trump’s greatest threat: not Democrats, but RINOs. These are the old-guard establishment Republicans—many anti-Trump, some even Democrats in disguise—who think they can outlast Trump while purging his base so that the Mike Pences of the party can step in.
I believe the RPOF knew my book was coming and moved to attack me before its September 21 release. I can’t prove it, but in trying to silence me, they revealed exactly who they are.
Fortunately, many share my view. I’ve received messages from leaders whose groups I’ve spoken to before, telling me their local REC leaders warned them they’d lose their charters if they invited me to speak. This doesn’t surprise me; years ago, chartered club presidents in Pinellas told me they’d been threatened when I began speaking out about irregularities in our voter rolls. Many of those same leaders are now standing by me.
Is your charter worth selling out your principles?
I may lose business for standing up to the RPOF leadership that’s hurting Trump’s base, but the support I’ve received from those who refuse to back down gives me hope.
Some MAGA members may consider leaving their RECs; others may pressure their Chairs to act more boldly. Please don’t leave your Republican party registration. We need to keep the party united—especially before the 2026 primaries. If your Chair is sympathetic to MAGA but hesitant to lose their REC, we still need them in place while we work to replace the current RINO leadership of the RPOF with those loyal to the grassroots, not lobbyists. At the very least, RPOF Chairman Evan Power and RPOF Executive Director Bill Helmich must go.
That’s why, on Friday, November 7th, many of us are gathering in Orlando to make our voices heard. If you care about the future of our state’s politics, this is the event to attend. MAGA didn’t start this war—the RINO minority did. But it will take the MAGA majority to end it.
There will be more attacks on MAGA by the RPOF—count on it. But if we don’t take a stand now, the RPOF under Evan Power’s failed leadership will only grow stronger. We cannot allow that to happen.

Her sequel, Rules for RINOs: Tactics for Fighting Republicans in Name Only, reached #1 on Amazon’s New Releases list for Comparative Politics in its first week after its release last month. It represents her latest mission—to expose RINOs and help America First patriots fight back against an establishment bent on purging MAGA patriots from the Republican party.
