James Comey Indicted
Today, a grand jury from the Eastern District of Virginia (Alexandria Division) returned a two-count indictment against former FBI Director James Comey. Read it here.
The charges stem from Comey’s September 30, 2020 testimony to the Senate Judiciary Committee, in which Comey stated he had not “authorized someone else at the FBI to be an anonymous source in the news reports.” That’s the first count: false statements within the jurisdiction of the legislative branch of the US Government, in violation of 18 USC 1001(a)(2).

Of course Comey is a liar – everyone knows that. That’s just who he is. The harder part is, at this early time, determining which specific leaks he was lying about – or, in figuring out the DOJ’s theory of the case. Let us explain.
