Professional-Life Senators Defeat Democrat Effort to Develop Abortion Funding
Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America scored against Democrat Leader Chuck Schumer’s funding bill that would have rolled back defunding of Big Abortion in this year’s reconciliation bill and permanently extended Obamacare subsidies for insurance plans covering abortion on demand.

Earlier this month, 88 pro-life groups led by SBA Pro-Life America sent a letter to the House of Representatives and the Senate calling on Congress to oppose forced taxpayer funding of abortion through Obamacare. Votes will be reflected on SBA Pro-Life America’s Scorecard.
Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America President Marjorie Dannenfelser issued the following statement:
“Just this July we succeeded in defunding Big Abortion, yet Democrats remain hell-bent on funneling our tax dollars back to an industry that kills babies and harms women. They lost the 2024 election but haven’t gotten the message – the strong majority of voters oppose taxpayer funding of abortion.
“Obamacare was the largest expansion of taxpayer-funded abortion since Roe v. Wade. On top of that, President Biden and the Democrats exploited COVID-19 relief to force even more abortion funding on strained taxpayers.
“We thank our pro-life Senate allies for swiftly defeating this radical bill, which would’ve cemented the Obama-Biden legacy of abortion extremism and ramped up federal funding of Big Abortion against the will of Congress and the American people.”
