Estonian Defense Ministry published a map showing the approximate route of the Russian MiG-31 jets that violated Estonian airspace.

Russia pushed back on the allegations.

Three Russian MiG-31 jets carried out a scheduled flight from Karelia to the Kaliningrad Region without violating Estonian airspace, the Russian Defense Ministry reported, reported Russian state news agency TASS.

“On September 19, three Russian MiG-31 fighter jets made a scheduled flight from Karelia to an airfield in the Kaliningrad Region. The flight was conducted in strict accordance with international airspace rules, without violating the borders of other states, which is confirmed by objective monitoring. During the flight, the Russian aircraft did not deviate from the agreed flight path and did not violate Estonian airspace. The aircraft’s flight path lay over the neutral waters of the Baltic Sea, more than three kilometers from the island of Vaindloo,” the statement said.

President Trump was asked about the incident in a press conference at The White House.

Reporter: Russian jets entered Estonian airspace. Do you see that as a threat to NATO?

Trump: I don’t love it when that happens. Could be big trouble. They will brief me about that.
