(Warning: this article contains some very horrifying and disturbing details.)

Several children were rescued in Bibb County, AL today when local authorities uncovered a shocking, sick crime.

The children — ages 3 to 10 — were found being held captive in an underground bunker, where they were being repeatedly tied up, drugged, and raped.

They had been there at least a year, totally cut off from the outside world while being subjected to unimaginable horrors.

Here’s what we know about the disgusting discovery:

The children were reportedly being sex trafficked and “sold” to clients for sexual pleasure.

Authorities suspect more children may have been victimized than the six discovered in the bunker.

AL shared more (very disturbing and disgusting) details:

The basement had been converted, at some point, to be used as a storm shelter and that’s where the repeated abuse took place between January 2024 and earlier this year.

Jones said the bunker had a concrete floor, an old bed, a couple of chairs and concrete pilings holding up the ceiling.

Wade’s weekend statement said the investigation began Feb. 4 of this year “following concerns regarding the sexual abuse of children in an underground bunker located in Brent.”

Two of the victims were found to be performing sex acts on each other.

When discovered, they reported that McElroy had done to them, or taught them to do, the things they were doing to each other, Jones said.

The accusations alleged the children were forced to endure vaginal intercourse, anal intercourse, and oral sex.

Records state one of the suspects “sold” children “to various clientele for sexual pleasure.”

Jones said the children were reportedly drugged by Velazques-Trejo pouring some type of white powder into their drinks.

“It’s hard to hear their stories and it’s hard to see pictures of this bunker where, according to some of the witnesses, they were drugged,” Jones said.

The victims are in DHR custody.

“As bad as it sounds with (Velazques-Trejo) drugging them, it may be a blessing in disguise because they don’t remember a lot of things,” Jones said.

“I’m hopeful through that they won’t have near the trauma they would have had if they had not been drugged.”

“I have a feeling as this story gets out, I feel like there are going to be more victims,” Jones said.

Authorities also believe there are many more suspects. He said there are allegations of up to another 12 men who may have paid to have sex with the children.

“We have no way of identifying these people unless somebody in the community comes forward and says this person told us they did this,” Jones said.

“The children wouldn’t know who they are.”

Three men have been indicted for the sick, perverse things they did to these poor children, and a fourth has been arrested.

Here’s the mugshot of three of the men:

WVTM13 has more on the indictments:

The official indictment shows William McElroy, whose home the shelter was found near, and Dalton Terrell are charged with human trafficking and sexually abusing children in an underground bunker. A third man, Andres Trejo, is charged with human trafficking. All three men were indicted on July 11.

A fourth person was arrested on July 22. Timothy St. John, 23, was taken into custody for rape, sodomy, kidnapping, beastiality and animal abuse, officials said…

The charges in the case include:

  • McElroy: four counts of rape in the first degree, six counts of human trafficking in the first degree, six counts of sodomy in the first degree, four counts of kidnapping in the first degree
  • Terrell: six counts of rape in the first degree, twelve counts of sodomy in the first degree, five counts of human trafficking in the first degree.
  • Trejo: six counts of human trafficking in the first degree
  • St. John: two counts of rape, four counts of sodomy, three counts of kidnapping, one count of bestiality, one count of animal abuse

The death penalty isn’t even enough for these four monsters.

Unforgivable.
