The Ultimatum: Queer Love Season 2: Trailer, Premiere, Cast
A new group of six couples featuring women and non-binary people are putting their relationships to the test on The Ultimatum: Queer Love season 2. Life & Style explores the Netflix series’ cast, partner relationships and more ahead of the premiere.
What Is ‘The Ultimatum: Queer Love’?
Netflix released season 1 of the show in May 2023, featuring an LGBTQ take on The Ultimatum. As in the original, one partner issues a relationship ultimatum about getting married and settling down, while the other has reservations.
The couples are then divided up to live with other contestants, while determining during an eight-week period if they want to remain faithful and fully commit to the romances they entered the show with or look for love with someone else.
Like season 1, the show’s second season involves an all-female and non-binary cast.
Where Does ‘The Ultimatum: Queer Love’ Season 2 Take Place?
Once again, a sunny locale was selected, as the show’s couples are based in Miami, Florida. Season 1 took place in San Diego, California. Joanna Garcia Swisher is back as the host for season 2.
Who Are the Couples Featured in ‘The Ultimatum: Queer Love’ Season 2?
The couples are AJ and Britney, Marie and Mel, Haley and Pilar, Dayna and Magan, Bridget and Kyle, and Ashley and Marita.
Administrative assistant AJ is worried about how registered nurse and entrepreneur Britney is highly focused on her career. “It’s not about love. It’s about whether we’re truly ready to prioritize the same future,” AJ told Netflix’s Tudum.
Britney said the couple of five years is coming on the show to determine where they stand.

“I issued AJ an ultimatum because after years of loving and building [a life] with her, I am ready for the next chapter,” Britney explained to Tudum. “I want clarity on where we are going and if she sees forever the same way I do.”
Food truck owner/chef Mel has been issued an ultimatum by her business partner and longtime love of four years, Marie.
“Marie is ready for forever, but I feel there’s a few things we need to get in order first,” Mel said of their romance.
Account manager Ashley and account executive Marita have been together for three years after matching on a dating app.
“I am getting tired of her inconsistency in our relationship, along with the fact that she never chooses me and seeks feelings elsewhere with other people,” Ashley said to Tudum. “I want her to pick me and know I am enough.”

However, Marita feels her partner hasn’t made enough effort towards romance in their relationship, stating, “I am not ready to settle for anything less than what I know I deserve.”
Relationship manager Dayna and business manager Magan enter the experiment after one and a half years of dating. “I’m ready to be more serious and plan a future with Magan,” ultimatum giver Dayna revealed, but her partner’s “traditional” family has been reluctant to accept her queerness, which could make a long-lasting future a hurdle.
“I would like to be married. I want a family,” Dayna explained in a confessional seen in the trailer that dropped on May 29, 2025, while Magan reflected, “My family doesn’t want me to be with a woman.”
Senior food scientist Haley has been “inseparable” with partner Pilar for a decade after meeting while freshmen in college. “We have always been firmly planted next to one another, and I want an even deeper commitment,” Haley revealed about going on the show, while Pilar views marriage as a “societal construct.”

Graphic designer Kyle and writer Ashley have been together for two and a half years after meeting on a dating app.
“As I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized getting married is an important step for me,” Kyle shared. “I want to know [Bridget] is committed to building a life and future together.”
What Does ‘The Ultimatum: Queer Love’ Season 2 Trailer Reveal?
Drama ensues between a tearful Pilar, who tells Haley, “My worst fear was that I would get to a point that I was ready, and you were falling in love with someone else. Now it’s happening.”
One contestant is heard saying, “it’s definitely possible to fall in love with two people,” after the experiment got underway.
Another couple appears on the verge of a breakup, with one member declaring, “My heart is shattered,” while another person dramatically says, “I can’t believe I wanted to marry you!”
