Ginny & Georgia season 3 is almost here, but it’s been a while — two years, to be exact — since many fans have seen season 2. The newest installment will primarily revolve around Georgia Miller’s (Brianne Howey) trial following her arrest, but do viewers recall why she was taken into police custody on the night she wed Mayor Paul Randolph (Scott Porter)? There’s a lot to remember, but Life & Style has you covered with a recap of Ginny & Georgia season 2.

Are Ginny and Marcus Still Together in ‘Ginny & Georgia’ Season 2?

At the start of the season, Ginny Miller (Antonia Gentry) returned to school in Wellsbury, Massachusetts, after she and younger brother Austin (Diesel La Torraca) stayed in Boston with her dad, Zion Miller (Nathan Mitchell), for a few weeks. Ginny reconnected with next-door neighbor and romantic interest Marcus Baker (Felix Mallard), the twin brother of her now-estranged best friend, Max Baker (Sara Waisglass). Max got mad at Ginny in season 1 when she found out Ginny had cheated on Hunter Chen (Mason Temple) with Marcus.

Ginny and Max finally made up in episode 4 after Ginny told Max that she loved Marcus. In that same episode, Marcus asked Ginny to be his girlfriend. Unfortunately, by episode 7, he began acting differently and coming to school drunk, and it was later revealed that Marcus was struggling with depression. He ultimately broke up with Ginny, telling her, “I don’t have room for anyone else’s pain right now.”

Austin’s Dad Gil Appears in ‘Ginny & Georgia’ Season 2

Austin’s father, Gil (Aaron Ashmore), got out of prison in season 2 and came to Wellsbury to start a new life, claiming to Georgia that he was a new man. Flashbacks throughout the season showed Gil’s relationship with Georgia, revealing that he physically abused her and embezzled money from his company, which ultimately led to his arrest and imprisonment.

Despite his claims of being a better man, Gil continued to attempt to abuse and blackmail Georgia in Wellsbury. This ultimately led to a confrontation between them in Georgia’s home, where Gil pushed her into the dining room table, and Austin shot his father in the arm to defend his mother. The family cleaned up the house and sewed up Gil’s arm before Paul came home in order to protect Austin.

Georgia and Paul Get Married in ‘Ginny & Georgia’ Season 2

After the incident with Gil and Austin, Georgia wanted to cancel her wedding to Paul, fearing that things were getting too complicated. However, Ginny convinced her to tell Paul everything — well, almost everything. She told her fiancé that she was “the reason Gil went to jail.” She also admitted that her ex-husband Kenny Drexel’s (Darryl Scheelar) ex-wife contested his will, which led private investigator Gabriel “Jesse” Cordova (Alex Mallari Jr.) to track her down and learn about her past. She confessed to shoplifting and going to jail. However, she left out the parts about killing a few of her exes and Cynthia Fuller’s (Sabrina Grdevich) husband.

Though Paul was angry at first, and Georgia was certain he would have her arrested, he ultimately threatened to have Gil sent back to prison for blackmailing his fiancée and told her that he wanted to marry her anyway. The pair tied the knot in the season finale.

Why Was Georgia Arrested in ‘Ginny & Georgia’ Season 2?

In season 2, Georgia forged somewhat of a friendship with Wellsbury real estate agent Cynthia, whose husband, Tom Fuller (Vincent Legault), was in a coma and on hospice care at home for several months. Cynthia confided in Georgia, tearfully telling her that she “wanted it to be over.” Georgia entered Tom’s room and suffocated him with a pillow until he died. Austin, who had been playing hide and seek with Cynthia’s son, Zach (Connor Laidman), witnessed her crime.

When Gabriel found out that Georgia was with Tom when he died, he became suspicious of the circumstances of his death. Georgia was ultimately arrested for Tom’s murder during her and Paul’s first dance at their wedding.

Everything Else That Happens in ‘Ginny & Georgia’ Season 2

In season 2, viewers saw Ginny try to overcome her mental health struggles in therapy. At her therapist’s suggestion, she used a rubber band to stop herself from self-harming through burning. Georgia later found out that Ginny had been self-harming and confronted her, but it led the two to have a serious and emotional talk, and Georgia tried to become a better mom.

There were also plenty of other romances that unfolded in season 2. Fans saw Max move on from Sophie Sanchez (Humberly González) and start flirting with a girl named Silver (Katelyn Wells). Meanwhile, Zion’s relationship with new girlfriend Simone (Vinessa Antoine) struggled due to his coparenting dynamic with Georgia.

Joe (Raymond Ablack) attempted to start a romance with Cynthia, but it was derailed due to his feelings for Georgia. He confronted Georgia about their feelings for each other, and though she hinted at being attracted to him, she chose to stay with Paul.
