The Bachelor Season 29 Week 6 Recap: Grant Ellis Goes to Hometowns
Grant Ellis headed into hometowns looking to make a good first impression on the families of the final four women on The Bachelor. He admitted there were some things that made him nervous about meeting the girls’ loved ones. Some relationships soared on the hometown dates and others came to a crashing end. Life & Style breaks down the full episode, including who went home.
Grant Bonded With Juliana’s Family During Her Hometown Date
First up was Juliana, whom Grant visited in her hometown of Massachusetts. They went to a pizza place in her neighborhood to learn how to make pizza. They had a blast while on the date despite Grant not really knowing his way around the kitchen. They later went to a bakery to make cannolis, a nod to their first time meeting.
Juliana admitted she was nervous to bring Grant home to her family because of things she’s experienced in her past relationships. “I’ve only done this once in my life and it didn’t end well,” she said about her past relationship.
“I haven’t brought anybody home in a really long time,” she told Grant.
Once they got to Juliana’s parents house, they were greeted by dozens of her family members. “Only 30 percent of the family could be here, Grant,” her dad joked.
Grant bonded with Juliana’s parents about the kind of man he hopes to be for their daughter and how he could see a future with her. “I respect you, and I respect what you’ve done, keeping your family together. Having you as a father-in-law I would really appreciate that,” Grant told Juliana’s dad.
After the visit, Grant told Juliana that he was falling in love with her.
Grant Visited Zoe for a Hometown Date in NYC
Next, Grant went to see Zoe in New York City. For their date, Zoe organized a photo shoot showing a proposal, an engagement party and a wedding day look with Grant. She wanted to give him a glimpse of something she enjoys doing, modeling. Zoe said that the photo shoot was hopefully “foreshadowing the future.” Grant then met Zoe’s aunt, uncle, sister and friends. The visit went very well and they both left the date feeling very optimistic. However, Zoe said that she hoped that their connection didn’t blossom “too late” in the season compared to Grant’s other connections.
Grant Met Litia’s Family During Hometowns
The third hometown date was in Wyoming with Litia. They rode horses together. The date came after Grant previously expressed he was falling in love with Litia but she did not immediately tell him that she was falling for him too. Litia told Grant that he is the first guy she has brought home that’s not Mormon. He said that he had an “open heart and open mind” about meeting her family and learning more about the Mormon faith.
Litia’s family told Grant that he did not have to be Mormon in order to be part of their family. “There’s really no expectation for us,” Litia’s mom told Grant during a conversation about faith. Litia also had a sweet conversation with her grandfather about her connection with Grant. At the end of the date, Litia told Grant she was falling in love with him and he was happy to hear her say that.
Grant and Dina Connected in Chicago for Her Hometown
Grant met Dina in Chicago for the final hometown date. Dina said that she was nervous to tell Grant that her family did not approve of her journey on The Bachelor and therefore would not be meeting him. Dina explained that her father is a pastor and very traditional. Grant said that he was a little bummed that he wasn’t going to get to meet Dina’s family and said it was “concerning” because he didn’t know how it would impact their relationship.
He instead met Dina’s friends. Dina broke down in tears when she and Grant met up with her friends. They ultimately ended up having a great time.
Joey Graziadei Stopped By to Give Grant Advice
Grant got a visit from Joey Graziadei, asking him for advice on how to move forward at this stage in his journey. He advised him to listen to his “gut feelings.” Back at the hotel, the girls talked about their hometown dates. Dina admitted she was nervous because she was the only one who didn’t have Grant meet her family.
Who Did Grant Send Home?
At the rose ceremony, Litia, Juliana and Zoe got roses, which meant Grant sent Dina home.
