BREAKING: Antifa, trans activists swarm University of Washington TPUSA event, forcing cancelation
On Tuesday night, far-left activists forced the cancelation of a speech by Olivia Krolczyk with University of Washington’s Turning Point USA chapter. Krolczyk is an ambassador for the Riley Gaines Center and reporter for Campus Reform.
Krolczyk became a speaker while pursuing a major in chemistry at the University of Cincinnati. She was given a failing grade on a project proposal in one of her courses for using the term “biological woman.” She posted about the incident to TikTok and the video reached more than 6 million views before it was deleted by TikTok over “community guideline violations.” She was permanently banned from the platform for stating the biological fact that men and women are different.
Trantifa activists had announced over the weekend that they would be targeting the event. Posters read “No TPUSA Transphobia at UW!”
Activists carrying trans flags and pro-LGBTQ signs disrupted the event by banging on doors, pulling fire alarms, blocking the entrances of Thompson Hall, and even line dancing to country music in front of the building.
The radicals broke a window to throw noisemakers into the room where the event was held.
Many of the activists were wrapped in Palestinian keffiyehs and were recognized after they participated in pro-Hamas events on campus including the Gaza camp last Spring. Some of the more violent extremists dressed in Antifa black-bloc.
Campus police escorted participants out of the building through an alternate hidden exit to avoid the mob after the event was canceled.
Krolczyk said the TPUSA event was canceled because of safety concerns for herself, attendees, and police officers trying to safeguard the event. She pledged to come back and try to speak again.
Rachel Anderson, TPUSA’s College Field Rep for Western Washington and Alaska told Frontlines’ Jonathan Choe, “They’re censoring our speech. They’re not allowing people who want to attend the event in the room.” She added, “It’s really sad that rather than having constructive dialogue on the issue, they are censoring women.”
Earlier in the day Krolczyk told The Ari Hoffman Show on Talk Radio 570 KVI that her topic for the evening would be that “God created man and woman, that women deserve to not compete against men in their sports, that we deserve to keep the First Amendment right to free speech, and that we should not have DEI in our classrooms because right now our schools and businesses are all ideologically challenged and we need to stop that.”
She added, “I am excited to have some conversations with these students, we’ll see if they actually want to have a conversation or if they’re going to show up with some bull horns and make some noise. But either way, I’m excited for the reception here tonight.”
Earlier in the school year, rather than remove and arrest pro-Hamas activists, campus police escorted administrators, faculty, and members of the Jewish community who had come to speak about campus antisemitism, through tunnels after surrendering the building to the radicals.
In the waning hours of the Biden administration, the University of Washington negotiated settlements with the Department of Education for pending civil rights cases against the school for rampant antisemitism. The school was let off the hook with no real repercussions or consequences despite being ranked among the top-five most antisemitic colleges in the US.
