Seattle man arrested for allegedly slashing victim across face with 2-foot sword
41-year-old Terrell Jones Fisher allegedly swung the sword and slashed the victim’s face.
A man was arrested in Seattle Wednesday morning after allegedly pulling a concealed 2-foot-long sword from his cane and slashing another man in the face.
According to Fox13, 41-year-old Terrell Jones Fisher got into an argument at an apartment complex in the 400 block of 8th Avenue South with another male. The suspect allegedly swung the sword and slashed the victim on the lip.
“Looking at the cane, it looks like it may have been homemade,” Detective Brian Pritchard told reporters. “When somebody gets cut with something like that, it’s pretty intimidating to have a blade that long and have it concealed in a cane.”
Officers responded to a 911 call at 6:37 am and found the 51-year-old male victim, with a wound to his face. Responding officers treated the wound until Seattle Fire Department paramedics arrived and transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center in stable, non-life-threatening, condition.
SPD believes that Fisher rode away from the apartment complex on a BMX-style bike. He was located a few blocks away at Hing Hay Park, taken into custody, and booked into King County Jail.
This week, Fisher appeared in court and was charged with assault. He has a criminal history of assault as well as burglary convictions and is being held on $100,000 bail.
The incident is one of the latest violent assaults in the area. Last month, King County Metro shut down the bus stops in the Chinatown-International District over widespread illicit activity after a mass stabbing. The region become notorious for the sale of stolen products, open-air drug use, and the sale of drugs.
