Kostadinov Blasts Bulgarian Government For Cutting Financial Support For In Vitro Procedures

In a post to his Facebook account yesterday, Bulgaria’s main opposition leader Kostadin Kostadinov blasted the Bulgarian government’s decision to cut financial support for in-vitro fertizilization procedures at a time when Bulgaria faces a serious demographic crisis.

“Yesterday it became clear that the government decided to cut the budget for financing In vitro procedures by BGN 2 million to provide for agricultural subsidies,” the leader of Vazrazhdane declared. “In a time of a monstrous demographic disaster that is literally eating our nation, one such decision is no more, no less, an act of treason. Not to mention that an attempt has been made for some Bulgarians to be opposed to other Bulgarians – the families with reproductive problems against farmers. And all this is done in the name of Bulgaria’s entry into the euro zone.”

“With those 2 million,” Kostadinov observed, “several hundred Bulgarians can be born in In vitro, desired and suffering children of the Bulgarian people! Today I want a meeting with the Prime Minister to demand that this criminal decision be canceled!”
