President Donald Trump has named a pro-life attorney to a top position at the Department of Justice.

Trump has nominated Harmeet K. Dhillon as Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights at the U.S. Department of Justice. This is a key appointment that comes at a crucial time for multiple pro-life Americans who are currently in federal prison after the Biden administration targeted them for protesting abortion.

“Throughout her career, Harmeet has stood up consistently to protect our cherished Civil Liberties, including taking on Big Tech for censoring our Free Speech, representing Christians who were prevented from praying together during COVID, and suing corporations who use woke policies to discriminate against their workers,” Trump said in an announcement.

“Harmeet is one of the top Election lawyers in the Country, fighting to ensure that all, and ONLY, legal votes are counted. She is a graduate of Dartmouth College and the University of Virginia Law School, and clerked in the U.S. Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals,” the president-elect continued. “In her new role at the DOJ, Harmeet will be a tireless defender of our Constitutional Rights, and will enforce our Civil Rights and Election Laws FAIRLY and FIRMLY.”

Dhillion is best known to the pro-life community for defending David Daleiden, who exposed the Planned Parenthood abortion business and it grisly sales of aborted baby parts.

Dhillon would replace radically pro-abortion Assistant Attorney General Kristen Clarke, who made it a top priority to use and abuse the FACE Law to prosecute pro-life Americans for engaging in their First Amendment protest rights.

Clarke did face scrutiny during her nomination process for remarks and social media posts made before her DOJ role, such as calling Alliance Defending Freedom a “hate group” and Liberty University a “fundamentalist Christian school.”

She supported the allegations of Christine Blasey Ford, submitted testimony to the U.S. Senate that Amy Coney Barrett was unfit to serve as a justice because she would likely rule to overturn Roe v. Wade, critiqued pro-life laws and courts that upheld them, and called a law protecting Down syndrome babies “draconian.”

Dhillion on the other hand defended the Republican pro-life platform, telling Politico, “We need to focus on drawing distinctions with the Left … not stoke divisions within our base.”

She also defended the rights of Christian parents ot adopt children without forcing a woke, trans agenda on them.

“Apparently the state of Vermont would rather place vulnerable children in a home with drag queens than in a home with a loving mom and dad who, like most Americans, do not believe it is a good idea to transition a minor child’s gender,” said Harmeet Dhillon, CEO and Founder of the Center for American Liberty. “The DCF is taking steps to revoke our client’s foster care license solely because they would not commit in advance to facilitate a hypothetical child’s gender transition. The state’s elevation of political science over actual science is not in the best interest of children and must stop. Melinda and Casey want to provide a loving home to children in need and we intend to restore their ability to do so.”
