For a while, the Wicked costars kept their relationship under wraps. The couple met on the set of the Broadway musical adaptation. They were both single at the time — the former Nickelodeon star was separated from husband Dalton while Ethan was estranged from his wife, Lilly Jay.
The rumored romance raised eyebrows at the time, as the beginning of their relationship coincided perfectly with both of their divorces. Ethan and Lilly finalized their divorce in September, while the “Positions” singer finalized her divorce from Dalton in March.
Regardless of the gossip, “Ethan and Ariana are out of hiding and happier than ever,” a source previously told Life & Style. “They’re so excited for the film to come out and for chatter around how they got together to be behind them.”
What’s Next for Ethan Slater?
Part 1 of the planned two-part Wicked movie adaptation hits theaters in November, so Ethan has been busy promoting his movie alongside girlfriend Ariana.
However, he’s been frank about his struggles with the sudden spotlight he found himself in after their romance rumors surfaced.
“I think there was something that was really difficult about things in your private life being commented on and looked at by the public,” he told GQ in October.
“There were a lot of big changes in private lives that were really happening, so it’s really hard to see people who don’t know anything about what’s happening commenting on it and speculating, and then getting things wrong about the people you love.”
