Joe Rogan — the host of the world’s number one podcast — revealed that multiple celebrities reached out to “thank” him for endorsing President-elect Donald Trump.

Rogan, who once endorsed Bernie Sanders and has long described himself as a liberal, became alienated from the political left in recent years due to their radical views on gender ideology, opposition to free speech and the Democratic Party’s embrace of Bush-era foreign interventionism. He became particularly alienated by the party during the COVID-19 lockdowns and associated vaccine mandates, at which time he became a target of left-wing cancel culture campaigns due to his outspoken views.

With less than two weeks before the election, Rogan shattered viewership records when he sat down with then-candidate Trump for what is on pace to be his most popular podcast in history. He followed it up with a pre-Election Day endorsement of the Republican nominee just before Election Day.

During the latest episode of The Joe Rogan Experience on Wednesday, the world’s top podcaster revealed that several celebrities and public figures reached out to “thank” him for endorsing the president-elect.

“There’s a-lot of people that don’t speak their mind,” Rogna told criminal justice reform advocate Josh Dubin. “Do you know many artists that have reached out to me that are like, fu**ing hippies man, like artists, like musicians, comedians that thanked me for endorsing Trump because they ‘can’t do it?’ They said they want to, but they don’t want to be attacked. They can’t say it.”

Rogan further revealed that common complaints including concern over government-directed censorship of the media and the internet, as well as the country’s overall track. “They think the country’s going in the wrong direction, they think that this control of social media by the government, which we would have had pretty much fully if it wasn’t for Elon buying Twitter, that this is a dangerous precedent to set, whether it’s a right-wing government or a left-wing government,” he said.

Dubin then pointed to the ongoing authoritarian crackdowns in the United Kingdom, where the country’s left-wing government is imprisoning citizens and visiting the homes of journalists over social media posts.

“The whole thing is nuts, and it’s a dangerous path that we were on. We were on that path. Trump has vowed to have free speech become a very important part of what he’s standing for, and that this censoring of information needs to stop and that we need to stop all government influence in what people have to say.”

Rogan had offered the opportunity to Vice President Kamala Harris to come on the podcast as well, though the campaign ultimately declined the invitation, as they would only consent to a shorter interview and would not travel to Rogan’s Austin, Texas studio.

“I think they had requirements on things that she didn’t want to talk about,” Rogan said during a separate episode earlier this week. “She didn’t want to talk about marijuana legalization — which I thought was hilarious.”

“Why?” comedian Adrienne Iapalucci asked.

“Because of her prosecuting record,” he replied, adding, “She put a lot of people in jail for weed — 1,500 apparently, allegedly,” Rogan replied.’
