Christina Hall's Ex Josh Appears on Christina in the Country
Christina Haack (formerly known as Christina Hall) was joined by her estranged husband, Josh Hall, in the season 2 premiere of Christina in the Country. The HGTV personality and her former partner filmed the season prior to them both filing for divorce in July.
The premiere episode, which aired on Tuesday, November 12, started off with Josh and Christina discussing traveling back to Tennessee to take on some home improvement projects. She explained that their realtor reached out with a property he thought they might be interested in flipping.
Christina and Josh then traveled to Tennessee to see the house and put in an offer. They ended up putting in a $450,000 offer, which was accepted. The real estate investor explained that she planned to do $250,000 worth of renovations on the retro-style home to make it more marketable. After the flip, Christina hoped to put the home on the market for $900,000, for a profit of $200,000.
As renovations on the home began, Josh ran into some hiccups, including asbestos in the walls and a plumbing issue, the latter of which pulled Christina from working on a renovation for new clients to come check out what was going on. She was told that it would take $3,000 to fix the plumbing, making her worried about the budget.
So far, it is not yet clear if Josh will be appearing in all of the episodes this season or just some. Christina and Josh were set to star in The Flip Off with her first ex-husband, Tarek El Moussa and his wife, Heather Rae El Moussa. However, Christina’s ongoing divorce from Josh impacted the trajectory of the HGTV show.
“The exes are back — along with their new spouses — for a throwdown competition to see who can find, buy, renovate, and flip a house for the biggest financial gain, and the chance at bragging rights,” a statement about the show said at the time. “The series launches in early 2025 with a super-sized premiere when Tarek and Christina are sure to bring the flipping drama.”
A source told Journalposts in July that The Flip Off was “moving forward” without Josh amid his divorce from Christina. After a fan suggested Christina’s second ex-husband, Ant Anstead, take over Josh’s spot on the show, many wondered what would happen next.
“How awesome would it be to have Ant replace Josh on The Flip Off? Ratings would go through the roof. If it happens, I need some credit. Lol,” one person wrote on Instagram in July, to which Christina responded, “LOL that would be a genius ‘ratings’ idea just sayin.”
She addressed her comment while talking to Backgrid shortly after. “It would be good for ratings, but I can’t work with any more exes. I already work with Tarek,” Christina, who shares kids Taylor and Brayden with Tarek and son Hudson with Ant, said.
