Melania Trump Snubs Jill Biden, Won’t Attend Customary Tea At White House
Melania Trump has reportedly turned down an invitation from First Lady Jill Biden for a customary tea at the White House.
The White House tea tradition is a customary meeting between the outgoing and incoming First Ladies, typically held before the inauguration of a new president. During this gathering, the outgoing First Lady welcomes the incoming First Lady to the White House, often over tea, and provides a tour of the private quarters and family spaces. The tradition began in 1952 when outgoing First Lady Bess Truman hosted Mamie Eisenhower, the incoming First Lady, and has generally been upheld since then.
However, Melania and Jill have not communicated following Vice President Kamala Harris’ decisive electoral loss, despite their husbands sharing a courteous conversation, according to insiders. “Mrs. Trump is not going, and they have not spoken,” a source familiar with the situation revealed to DailyMail.com regarding the presidential meeting that took place on Wednesday.
This is not the first time a meeting between the two families has made headlines. During the transition period in 2020, Melania kept a low profile and did not immediately reach out to Jill, deviating from customs. The Bidens, however, held their own small ceremony upon moving into the White House.
“She ain’t going,” another source informed The New York Post. The source also criticized Joe Biden for his administration’s actions, stating, “Jill Biden’s husband authorized the FBI snooping through her underwear drawer. The Bidens are disgusting.” The source further emphasized Melania’s disdain towards the encounter, adding, “Jill Biden isn’t someone Melania needs to meet.”
Melania Trump has declined Jill Biden’s invitation to meet at the White House this week.
She citied the recent raid at Mar-a-Lago as her reason.
Good for her.

Jill and Melania last encountered each other at Rosalynn Carter’s funeral last November. Her decision to attend the funeral alone, while her husband, President-elect Trump, was absent, drew attention.
It seems the Mar-a-Lago raid has had personal repercussions. In August, 2022, FBI agents descended on Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida, to execute a search warrant. The operation aimed to secure classified documents allegedly mishandled by the former president after his term ended.
The agents collected 26 boxes, some stamped with ‘confidential,’ ‘secret,’ and ‘top secret’ labels, featuring highly sensitive information. The search marked the culmination of ongoing efforts by the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) to retrieve presidential records that Trump had taken with him post-presidency.
Despite this, President-elect Donald Trump is scheduled to meet with President Joe Biden at the White House to discuss the upcoming transition of power.
