GoogleTrends Data shows that the number of times people in the United States searched “how to move to Canada” increased by 400% after Donald Trump was declared president-elect.
Most of the searches came from those in Vermont, Maine, Oregon, New Hampshire, and Minnesota.
Related searches included “how to immigrate to Canada” and “relocation.”
The Daily Mail reported that many Americans have considered moving to Australia as a result of the 2024 Presidential Election.
While Americans are threatening to leave the United States, some foreigners have expressed a desire to move to the States.
One X user said, “I’m packing. Which city should I move to? Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Miami or Hawaii?”
A man known as “Billboard Chris, an anti-“gender-affirming care” activist, wrote on social media, “If Donald Trump wins, I’m moving to America, just to get away from Democrats moving to Canada.”
