Investors are increasingly turning to hard assets like gold and Bitcoin as a hedge against inflation and potential financial crises, driven by central banks’ policies that favor the wealthy and the need for a monetary reset to ensure economic stability.

Financial Crisis and Monetary Policy

The 2008 financial crisis led to radical monetary policies like zero interest rates and quantitative easing by the Fed, which Lepard saw as monetary madness and debasement.

Central banks are buying record amounts of gold, and countries are increasingly trading in their own currencies and settling in gold instead of dollars, indicating a shift away from the US dollar.

Investment Strategies

Lepard advises investing in proven businesses with working models, even if small, as they have taken out risk, focusing on producers in the gold mining space with operating mines and positive cash flow.

Network businesses like AmazonGoogle, and Bitcoin have bulletproof value and stunning wealth creation, but are rare and difficult to replicate.

Economic Cycles and Future Predictions

The Fourth Turning, a cycle of crisis every 80 years, started in 2008 and will likely resolve in the 2030s, potentially leading to a $35 trillion debt crisis and a 35% increase in the cost of living for Americans.

Lepard predicts that Bitcoin’s 15-year history of outperforming other assets makes it likely to remain the best performing financial asset, with a potential 10x increase within the next decade.

Alternative Currencies and Global Shifts

The BRICS Summit in 2022 is expected to introduce a BRICS currency backed by 40% gold, potentially challenging the dominance of the US dollar.

Lepard believes the Fed will eventually print money to bail out banks, violating the Dodd-Frank law, as the FDIC lacks sufficient funds to cover all deposits in a major crisis.
