One Direction Transformation Pics: How They've Changed Since 2010

In 2010, five young lads walked into the The X Factor competition hopeful — and left it, stars. One Direction quickly became a global phenomenon, and fans watched the member grow up into having their own solo careers.

Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson finished third in the English talent competition but went on to become one of the most successful boy bands of all time.

Zayn left the band in March 2015. In August of that year, the remaining foursome announced they would be taking a hiatus in 2016 to focus on solo projects, although the group never reunited. Some went on to become fathers while Harry soared to become one of the world’s biggest pop stars. Sadly, Liam died at age 31 in a fall from a balcony at an Argentina hotel.
