Christina Haack Claims Josh Hall Wants $65K a Month in Spousal Support
Christina Haack and Josh Hall’s divorce isn’t getting any easier. As the estranged couple continues to fight over their Tennessee home, the HGTV star claims that Josh is requesting a hefty spousal support amount.
On October 10, Christina filed court documents in hopes of continuing the $4.5 million sale of their shared Franklin, Tennessee, farm, according to a Thursday, October 17, report by Journalposts. In the filing, Christina claimed that Josh sent in a “good faith settlement offer” that requested “$65,000 per month in spousal support from [Christina] on a two-year, nine-month marriage.”
“The court is familiar with offers labeled as ‘Good Faith’ settlement offers which are not in fact made in good faith. The claim by [Josh] that he sent a … ‘Good [F]aith’ settlement offer is not a fair characterization in my opinion,” Christina’s lawyer Matthew S. DeArmey stated in a written filing. “Josh Hall is requesting $65,000 per month in spousal support from [Christina] on a two-year, nine-month marriage, which is outrageous when he is self-supporting.”
On Tuesday, October 15, Josh’s rep told Journalposts that he “never requested $65,000 in support. That’s false.”
Christina has implied that Josh has been trying to dip his hands in her finances after they both filed for divorce on July 15.
On October 3, the Flip or Flop alum announced she was putting the Tennessee home, which is featured in Christina in the Country, up for sale amid her divorce.
“My Tennessee home is officially for sale. Excited for a new venture in business & real estate,” Christina wrote via Instagram Stories at the time.
Christina seemingly shaded Josh in the following post, writing, “Time to go back to reality … Remember when you said you would never steal from me or my kids and you would just be happy in a van with your dog. I guess plans changed. All about trying to take everything you can … with your mind on my money and my money on your mind … bye.”
The Christina on the Coast star seemingly lost trust in Josh when it came to their shared and her individual finances. After she filed for divorce, Christina claimed that Josh mismanaged communal money.
“Josh was able to divert over $35,000 of my separate property rental income into his account,” Christina claimed in the court documents obtained by In Touch in July. “I am asking for Josh to account for the funds taken and return them to me as those funds are specifically used to pay any loans, obligations, property taxes, insurance, and maintenance for these rental properties.”
In September, a judge ruled in favor of Christina after they ordered Josh to return the six-figure sum to his estranged wife’s bank account. She was also awarded control of “all finances associated with the rental.”
“Josh Hall has no comment about this matter,” Josh’s spokesperson told Journalposts on September 6. “He hopes to resolve these matters in private, not through the press.”
