Rihanna is meticulous about all aspects of her beauty routine, but she takes things to another level when it comes to perfecting her locks, a source exclusively tells Life & Style.

“She’s been spending upwards of $20,000 a month on her hair for years and that hasn’t changed, even since she’s had kids,” the source dishes. “She has a personal hairstylist that does her hair anytime she leaves the house. She has hair extensions and gets them changed out every week. She wants brand new hair every time.”

In June, Rihanna, 36, released her haircare line, Fenty Hair, which adds “even more pressure” for her to have “perfect hair at all times,” according to the source. “She has no room for a bad hair day,” the insider continues. “And she does like to be creative with her styles. It’s also super important for her to protect her natural hair, which is another reason she’s always getting her extensions taken out and redone.”

The singer “takes a lot of pride in her hair,” the source concludes, adding, “In order to keep it in top health, she needs to put in a lot of effort. As far as she’s concerned, no amount of money is too much to have perfect hair.”

Rihanna has been focused on building her fashion and beauty empire since 2017 when she released Fenty Beauty, which features a variety of makeup products. She then expanded her business with the launch of Savage x Fenty, a lingerie brand, in 2018. In 2020, the entrepreneur expanded into skincare with the release of Fenty Skin, culminating with Fenty Hair four years later.

Amid all of this, she also gave birth to two sons, RZA and Riot, whom she shares with partner ASAP Rocky. However, her music career has been on hold while she’s focused on building Fenty and her family. The Grammy winner has not released an album since Anti in 2016 and fans have anxiously been waiting for her to share new music.

“There’s always a ‘yes’ to new music,” she said in April. “If I said ‘no’ that means I quit. You just have to wait.”

In June, she confirmed that she had already been working on music but admitted that she was “starting over” on the album. “I don’t want to neglect the songs that I have, so I actually want to go back and listen to stuff with new ears, with my new perspective, and then see what applies and what I’m still in love with,” the Barbados native told Entertainment Tonight. “I think that music, for me, is a new discovery. I’m rediscovering things. I have been working on the album for so long that I kinda put all that stuff aside and now I’m prepared to go back in the studio. I’m gonna start — give me a second!”

As if she wasn’t already busy enough, a source exclusively told Life & Style in August that the “Pon de Replay” artist and her boyfriend are starting to think about having baby No. 3 now that their youngest son is a year old. “She’s ready to take on another pregnancy and of course it’s no secret she’d love to have a little girl,” the insider said. “So that’s part of the push to try again.”
