A migrant has been arrested in connection with a violent home invasion in Colleyville, Texas, where a woman was beaten and threatened. Manuel Hernandez-Hernandez, 28, is the only suspect apprehended so far, facing charges of aggravated burglary.

The incident occurred on September 21, when the woman returned home and was approached by four men, one of whom brandished a gun.

She reported that he struck her in the head multiple times and dragged her inside, where she was tied up using her own clothing.

The assailants, who only spoke Spanish, reportedly used Google Translate to issue terrifying threats, including that they would “cut her fingers off one by one” if she didn’t disclose the location of her safe.

The burglars made off with approximately $75,000 in cash, a Gucci purse, her cellphone, and coins, leaving the residence in disarray. Police have stated that the other suspects remain at large.

Hernandez-Hernandez was previously arrested on unrelated charges just two days before the burglary but was released shortly before the crime. He was re-arrested on September 30 and is currently in custody, with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) placing a detainer on him should he be released.

This incident raises concerns about safety in communities and the implications of immigration policies, as noted by law enforcement officials who continue to seek the other suspects involved.
